Game doesn't launch
It freezes even before I can see the main menu or any intro :(

Huh! Really sorry for this. If you see only the loading screen, it might be a problem of the wrong graphics API being picked. Could you please try this and let me know if it fixed the issue?

1. Right-click the game in your Library and hit Properties.
2. In the General tab, there's an input field for launch options. Please enter:

-force-d3d11-singlethreaded

-force-d3d11

3. Close the window and try launching again.

Okay, then it's not an issue with Vulkan/DirectX.

Could you do me a favor and send me two files to support[at]digitales.games?

Player.Log from here:
AppData\LocalLow\DigiTales Interactive\Between Horizons

And lastsave.txt, which is located here:
LocalLow\DigiTales Interactive\Between Horizons\steam\[Your Steam ID]

Actually, we just rolled out a patch that should fix the issue outright, no launch options required. Let me know if it works for you now!

Unfortunately the game (still) crashes right after the first seconds just showing "Digitales" and "Assemble Entertainment" ...I tried the launch options, but it did not work..

Sorry to hear that... So the game crashes for you? Or it gets stuck in a loading screen?

Could you maybe e-mail us the two files I mentioned above so we can investigate this further?

I am having the same issue as well Julian. Just emailed you the Player.log, but I did not have a lastsave.txt file in the location specified. I think that's because the game never really started up. I know it's only been a few hours, but I was hoping you all were getting closer to a root cause. Let me know if there is anything else I could provide to help troubleshoot!

Thank you guys for reporting and sorry for the inconvenience! We're looking into it again today. We only learned that the new fix doesn't work at 11 PM last night, and we haven't been able to reproduce it yet. That is, there was a problem with the graphics API we already addressed, which will at least have fixed the startup freeze for some people. We're also currently working on some other issues people reported yesterday, so please bear with us.

Just to be clear, this thread is originally about the game freezing, but it's crashing to desktop for some of you? Those might be two issues we need to look into separately.

PS: Everybody try updating your GPU drivers! It often addresses issues like this.

Could you tell me when you e-mailed it and to which address? I got one crash log e-mailed to our contact address today, but if that's not yours, I didn't receive anything.

Hello, I now have exactly the same problem (game stuck on the loading screen not even making it to the menu) while it was working perfectly yesterday...

How can I resume my game ?

Using the `-force-d3d11` option doesn't help. I think the update you released tonight broke my game while it was working properly before. This is really frustrating when you're hooked up in a game (love it so far, you did an amazing job!). I hope a fix-for-the-fix will come out quickly because this is how I stopped playing rogue trader, beeing stuck with a bug for several days really breaks the immersion and make it very hard to come back...

I've also updated my drivers. I'll send the logs to the support address right away. Thanks for your help !
