Excellent ideas with extremely poor execution. I'm a big fan of the underappreciated Wolf3D, but OLCST does so much wrong that I can't play any further than almost to the end of E1. The movement is sort of the perfect metaphor for this game in that it cannot decide what it wants to be - it's got the floatyness of Doom/BUILD/Quake but the tank-like feel of Wolf3D, ultimately ending up feeling rather clunky and almost like moving has input delay. Simple things like using the ESC key to exit menus seemingly weren't on the radars of whoever made this. Visual bugs are almost constant, there's too much ammo, headshots are a thing but it only registered two of them in my playtime despite landing most of them if the crosshair is to be believed. The English isn't great either, and so can take you out of the experience. I tried playing this on my Deck since the Y-axis barely exists in this game, but controller support is so poorly implemented that it might as well have not been implemented at all. "Hard" is stupidly easy too.

Just about the only positive I can give it is the presentation on first startup. Despite my criticisms, good effort, but effort does not equal a good game. I really wanted OLCST to be good, however it misses that "feel" that any good retro shooter must nail.

Great game with great weapons!

Wasn't expecting to have this much fun with this game, but Only Lea Can Stop Them is amazing. It's filled to the brim with references to Wolfenstein 3D. from the art, to the music and so forth. You will deal with fascists as well, but this time we are taking about the ones under ♥♥♥♥♥♥'s (Spain) control. There are a lot more weapons and enemy variety as well. The game has some nice little details, with the pickups being clear references to Spanish culture and cuisine and there being a headshot mechanic, Though in the very beginning i was unsure if the game was going to be too difficult (i was playing on extreme), after playing it for a couple of minutes i got used to the mechanics and has been dashing through the game (which is fortunately not so short). DO RECOMMEND.
