It seems to be a bug, it happened to me too.

The machine starts to spin, the black lid goes back on by itself, but Poirot can neither leave nor do anything else.

I reloaded the last save and instead of directly coming to the machine, I did... something else first (roaming around, speaking with characters, though I don't remember which ones unfortunately...), then I came back to the machine, did the stuff with the gears, and it worked!

I tried to roam and do whatever and I saved the juicer for last but it still won't work. I guess I just have to leave the game as is and uninstall :(

You could look only for savegames made past this puzzle.

hello i am having trouble at the same point,the same happens to me after i have completed the juice puzzle.i went back on other saved games and tried again ,same thing ,it crashes and i cant do anything ,im so frustrated after 25 hours of play !!!!! is there any other help out there ?thanks in advance

I'm not sure this will help you much, but in relation to my previous post, and having read newer comments, I remember now that I had to reload an old backup but not the most recent one, which wasn't working either.

As for what I did or didn't do, between an older save (which worked) and the most recent one (which didn't work), it's a mystery...

I thought I was re-playing the same way all the already known scenes and puzzles, but immediately knowing what to do maybe avoided me a "false move" (which in any case should be not allowed by the game, I know...)?

Perhaps the explanation is that some of the saves were made imperfectly (incompletely) by the game, and so you have to try and go back gradually, one by one, from the most recent to the oldest, until it works.

It's tedious (it's not that funny to re-play known scenes and puzzles) but rather than lose 25 hours of gameplay...

The whole game isn't 25 h long and you can skip dialogues you know already when restarting the game.
