Ultimate General: American Revolution

Ultimate General: American Revolution

Anything specifically lacking in either campaign ?
I'd like to buy this game, and if the idea it won't get further developed doesn't scare me off, would anyone who has finished the campaign care to comment on whether they are lacking any game breaking parts to prevent enjoyment?

Thanks.

I havent found any game breaking things so thats good. But there are a bunch of small things like events popping up talking about the wrong side (i.e. brittish when you play american and vice versa) and such.

nothing really "game breaking" but there are a considerable amount of minor bugs, although not very game breaking. Its a good game for the first year, but it gets very boring mid to late game.

I don't know I am massing troops outside of boston after the first battle ... How do you heal and how do you make ammunition and how do you get more officers. How did I miss the directions... and now my game speed window is missing, I have to use tab and p. I would fix those issues ... ie: why am I here not knowing this at this point in the game. I played the other ultimate generals so I'm not unfamilar but I missed something to have to restart already.

The game usually gives you direct access in the moment when announced, It will say you can get an officer and then turn and use them to help with construction speeds in the rear and unit benefits in the field. ammo must be bought or taken from enemy provisions. same goes for food. officers are offered slowly and you will get one at a time and assign them to be quartermaster or engineering commandant. I would keep at it. I think the hq and other perks open up a month in and one after the lexington and concord brief mission. hope this helps

I feel that the game is somewhat unfinished, I feel that there are not many option in fitting out troops but that could be due to UGCW giving so many options and my expectations that combat would be more in depth since I had played UGCW.
The combat is fairly rudimentary, you pull up your guys and they blast each other until one looses morale, you try flank if you have the numbers.
There is elevation and cover benefits but 90% of the time the other side will start with the high ground and the forest cover is very random. Some how you will have lines of trees which you don't see in nature since seeds propagate out in an omnidirecition.
Cities are strange as well. You can have all your guys camping out in a city, go to a battle which you would think would have urban areas and easy to defend, but there might be 1-2 buildings if you are lucky and they do not provide any sort of cover at all.

The game is fantastic if I had any slight improvements or fixes that I've noticed would be (1)finishing the infrastructure on the far western part of the map mostly forts. (2)resources seem to disappear off and on in the inventory. It makes it difficult to manufacture. (3)when creating a retinue you choose your officer. If you back out for any reason the officer you selected for the retinue disappears for good. That is really all I got. The game has had a lot of work done to it since early early access. Extremely happy playing this game.
