Wow! Great exposition of ideas. Competition always drives development, although everyone should have equal opportunities for development to be as efficient as possible. Otherwise, those who ultimately influence development aren't always the best placed to do so. So, development can stagnate or even regress, something we see more and more in the West.

The Mycenaean civilization would be a great addition to the game, as would the others, but the Mycenaeans are the true fathers of Mediterranean civilizations, and they don't always get the credit they deserve, especially in games.

You managed to coalesce my objection. When I paid for the Early Access version, none of this was included.
Your images were of a growing city with incidental conflict. Then you took months off to work. Then even more unannounced off. And now the entire game is different and you're building it around trying to be a 4x game, which simply isn't going to work out as an actual game.

I would object against taking real world civilizations and putting them into the game. Your view of development seems to be too simplistic. Please read and research more and not only copy!

oh, Thank you for your criticism. I will make further efforts to do the research behind it.
Also, do we really need these pre-made civilization factions, when the idea is for the player to develop his own?

Your interest in this topic suggests deep engagement with the game!
Theoretically, allowing players to invent any ideology sounds plausible—but condensing all global philosophies into a single tree interface would create overwhelming complexity. Moreover, concepts like ancient Chinese brewing grape wine or Mycenaean civilizations producing silk feel historically dissonant (hahaha!). Thus, this requires careful reconsideration.

For now, I lean toward factions divided by ethnicity or philosophical schools—e.g., Sparta and Plato's Republic ("The Ideal State") as distinct factions.
