The description of the game on the Steam Store page calls it a roguelite, implying that there are some elements of permanent progression that carry over between runs. Can anyone give me a breakdown of what these are? Thanks!

Had a good run die because of one of the enemy mages having this huge AoE rooting spell that does like 200 damage if it catchs you, why the heck is it impossible to escape if it touchs you once? Nothing else at that level is anywhere near as hyperlethal Am I missing something? A status curative wouldn't help much because the spell reinflicts every second or so...

These either make it or break it. Let me know. If not, are either planned or in development?

Thank you for reading! I grew up playing the original King's Field back in the day, and I was delighted to recently discover Devil Spire. I've been getting hard into roguelites lately, and I read that Devil Spire has a "Souls mode," wherein the player collects Souls that can be spent on some sort of progression. I'd love a breakdown on how this works, as I'm not able to find much info online, since the game doesn't seem to have too much exposure yet. Is the currency/progress that I make in Souls mode so...

The game slows the ♥♥♥♥ down, and becomes so laggy that it's impossible to even play, or even see for that matter since the effects lasted YEARS because of that enormous lag slow down.
