A giant update for Square Farm is here and there's a cubic ton of content!

New features included in this major update are:

• Square Fishing! Buy a Fishing Rod from the new villager Jordan and travel to one of three fishing locations using the new world map. Try and deduce where the fish are swimming and catch them all before the day is finished.
  
• 12 new seeds are now available for purchase, including Sunflowers, Chili Peppers, Cocoa, and more!
  
• An exotic trader has set up shop nearby. In his stock are rare items that aren't available anywhere else.
  
• Adopt a pet to keep you company while you farm. The Trader will let you adopt even rarer pets, like the Birman Cat, the Australian Shepherd, or the Maltese Terrier.
  
• Villagers now offer you requests to complete every season. Earn rewards and of course, a boost to your friendship.
  
• Customize your farm with new houses and fences. You can buy them in the new shops that have opened up in town.
  
• Play as either a male or female farmer. The option to choose will become available the next time you start the game.
  
• A brand new Fertilizer system. Increase your profits or plant with other benefits.
  
• Your eccentric uncle has left you a series of tasks to complete to become the ultimate Square Farmer.
• All tools, seeds and animals can now be upgraded.

Also included are some other minor changes:

• You can now click-and-drag to equip plots before farming.
  
• An overhaul of most crops and animals, with some crops having different blocks and values.
  
• You can now hire Boyd to clear some areas on the map for you.
  
• Major redesigns of UI.
  
• Updated art for backgrounds, items and characters.
  
• A new menu when interacting with villagers.
  
• Animal grass can now be fertilized.
  
• A revamped villager affection system.
  
• You can equip/unequip tools you've purchased in the tool menu.
  
• You can put crops in storage using the shipping container.
  
• The bonus menu has been moved to Town Hall.
  
• Crops grown in rain are always great quality.
  
• You can now adjust the volume of rain ambience in the options menu.
  
• Various performance improvements and bug fixes.

Hello Square Farmers! Just a tiny update today as I have been working on releasing Square Farm on other platforms. This feature has been requested by a few users.

Hello Square Farmers! There's been a big influx of players recently and it makes me very happy! I have a small update for you all today:

-How the horse works has been changed. It now gives you a save in addition to the farmer's save instead of replacing it. It's save area has been made a little smaller to balance it.
-I've made edits to most of the dialogue as I have been made aware I had a weird... addiction... to... ellipses. It's also been trimmed in general, but the stories/characters are still the same. Early players got the Director's Cut!
-Slightly moved one of the butterflies.

Hello Square Farmers! I have a 2.1 update with some fixes and a few other tweaks:

GENERAL
-If you have Gloves, you can now rotate blocks by right clicking it directly, it does not need to be held first. (You can also still rotate while holding it).
-Daphne and Shannon's early conversations have been edited, and some typos were fixed.
-The needed values for some bonuses have been reduced.
-Some upgrades are a little cheaper.

UI
-The ranking button was removed from the main screen and now appears in the Info menu.
-There's now an option to change the volume of the text scrolling sound.
-Added credits to the option menu.
-Moved all the Close/Back buttons slightly to the left to be consistent with the Crop Select screen, sorry if this messes with your muscle memory!

Square Farm has been updated with a town's worth of new content! Hop on your bike and visit the nearby town of Squarewood to meet the locals and experience their stories. Give them the flowers you grow on your farm to increase your friendship level and move their story forward.

Who will you befriend first?

• Daphne - A young woman who curiously passes by your farm one morning. Why is she here? For some reason, she's hesitant to say.
  
• Shannon - An unfriendly city-dweller who looks down on the simplicity of country life. Maybe, deep down, there's someone sentimental?
  
• Boyd - Squarewood's builder. He has the tendency to start projects that are, in reality, ridiculous. Wait until you hear his next idea.
  
• Harris - An employee of City Hall who is dedicated to a career in politics. The next step in his plans? To be the mayor of Squarewood!
  
• Tina - A shy, young woman who works at the Inn. Despite her good intentions, she's awful at her job. What will be her next blunder...

Update Notes:

• You have a bike! Press the Travel button to travel to the town of Squarewood! (You'll need to see the bike cutscene first).
  
• Sprinkled throughout the first year, villagers will visit your farm to say hello. After they've visited once, you'll be able to find them in Squarewood. (Players who have already played past the first seasons will be visited straight away).
  
• A flower will appear on your farm's field every few days. If you harvest them, you'll be able to give them to villagers.
  
• Five new villagers. Six friendship levels each. Over 30 unique cutscenes in total!
  
• A new friendship menu has been added to track your friendship levels with each villager.

Other Notes:

• Art updates for the farmer, Fall background, and the dialogue UI.
  
• New sound effects and text speed for the dialogue UI.
  
• The first Spring crops unlock earlier and some crop values have been slightly changed.
