Hey everyone!

Time flies, it's almost a month since Grimoire Groves was released! We hope you're still enjoying the game and are happy with our previous patch!

Again, we would also like to thank everyone who gave feedback on the game, be it here on Steam, on our Discord server, or anywhere else! We also try to answer as many questions and comments as fast as possible.

While some of the features y'all are requesting are quite big and stuff we can't make any promises (yet), there is still a whole bunch of things we improved! Today's update has these major points:

Improved aim assist for a bunch of spells. It should now be a bit easier to cast spells on plants after you first moved away from them.
Reworked respawning. The respawning of plants previously could become a bit overwhelming - even if it's sometimes fun to get a huge group of plants to feed! We toned down the amount of plants that get respawned and also added a fun little reward: Respawned plants now have a bigger chance to drop rare fruits!
The Cauldroven minigame is now skippable. We know that many of you either don't like the minigame or struggle to beat it. You can now opt to skip the minigame, but pay a little bit more compost. Don't worry, we adjusted the prices for all Charmstries, so overall, it will not be more expensive!
Mushmommy baby fruits now are in the Grimoire. All plants that have babies with different fruits now also display the fruits of their babies in the Grimoire, so it's now less confusing to find out which plant drops the fruit you need.
Dungeon level added to the HUD. You can now see on which level you are in the dungeon at any time! We added a little dungeon level indicator right next to the energy bar.
Localization improvements for French and Portuguese. We removed a little bug where the ç glyph would not be displayed correctly in the game. Also, players with the AZERTY keyboard now can use ZQSD to control Primrose (the UI does unfortunately not adapt to that though).
Bug fix: Lillian & Beatrice's house achievement. For all the achievement hunters out there, Lillian & Beatrice's house building achievement now should retrospectively activate if you had reached it while it was buggy.
Bug fix: Water Spirit save remedied. Players who reached a certain part of the story while it was buggy had the issue that the Water Spirit would not show up properly on game saves that had the bug. We now pushed a fix that should overwrite that issue and let the Water Spirit appear as planned.
And as always, some other bugfixes as well :)

Water Spirit (Caution, spoilers!)

I don't know if I messed up, or keep missing them, or what, but while I was able to get the Earth spirit to visit the garden and hang out, I stopped finding the Water spirit in the woods before I was able to befriend them enough to get them to visit! Now I've reached the point with the Air spirit where I've invited them over, but I don't know if they'll come without their Watery friend!! Demo feedback and bugs?

First of all, I really like the game’s visuals! The art style is beautiful, and I especially appreciate the minimap. Without it, I would sometimes struggle to tell where paths are actually walkable due to the semi-transparent trees at the map’s edges. That said, I feel like some mechanics could use better explanations. Some things are intuitive—like enemy aggro and how they call for reinforcements—but others remain unclear even after multiple runs. For example, how does composting work? Do I alway...

Some wishes for this game

I've had a good experience with this game so far, but sometimes when venturing through the forest, sprinting will cause me to accidentally reach off the map. However, there is no option to reset the player's position in the game, and there is no way to sprint back into the map again. I'm left with the option of restarting the game by abandoning the item I got (halving of items in the forest mechanic). Also, I hope it is possible to add the ability to modify the keyboard keys in the game .

Tutorial softlock

On the very first tutorial on how to feed the beanies I couldn't see a clear cue on what to do after I first pressed X so the beanie escaped and I was softlocked. If there were visual cues for buttons to press, I couldn't see them at all. Having all button cues white does not help....

Confused about fire boss

Hi! This is probably really stupid but how do you beat the Fire boss? It looks like there are things on its tentacles that I need to feed, but they are waving in the air? I'm not sure how to tell what colour they are or how to reach them when they are waving around... Any tips are appreciated, thank you!...

Hey everyone!

Grimoire Grove is already out for some days now, and we hope you all are enjoying the game!

We would also like to thank everyone who gave feedback on the game, be it here on Steam, on our Discord server, or anywhere else! We also try to answer as many questions and comments as fast as possible. If you feel like something fell through the cracks, let us know!

That being said, we gathered all feedback and looked which ones seem the most pressing, or get mentioned most frequent. Based on that, we're now already releasing our first little update, addressing the following topics:

Clearer Instructions for using the pedestals in lavenders garden
V-Sync option in the graphics settings
Target frame-rate option in the graphics settings
And many bug-fixes

Of course we will continue to improve Grimoire Groves, and there's more coming in the future. In the meantime, enjoy your stay at the groves and keep the feedback coming <3
