The timer countdown should not start until you open up the panel for "cheat codes".

I found the secret room and I got +2000 points and heard to sound that indicated that secret room being open now but it was still closed by the small red door? is there other prerequisites for this? like needing to get there without dying etc? or is there just simply a button hidden somewhere?...
