Just like Marvel rivals
Then they pull the plug...
In the midst of this, Iron Giant was a terrible sized character in a platform fighter for balancing and they slapped a beta tag on him or took him out of the shop all kinds of funny business
On top of that costume and themed quests, you need 10 wins with a Halloween character or 20 wins with something related for less points to unlock the free halloween costume and then you can get the full points for the rest of the battle pass
This live service model is so archaic that mobile games with this setup have shut down for the most part, daily and weekly quests that you FOMO are not OK (I mean when you have to spend money to get the costumes for the BP points thats double dipping)
I still bought the 100$ founder pack because I have a deformed brain from banging it against the wall every time I make a mistake which causes more mistakes I think, dunno thinking hurts
If I only knew then what I know now, I still would've played it.
Incredible.
I didn't even make it all the way through season 3. Too much FOMO, not enough variety, so many actual legit complaints. These people coming here to spike the ball and scream "neener neener I'm so smart" are really pathetic.
Then again, I played it (and got all the achievements ) when it was in open beta. I came back to see what had changed. Some improvements were made, but a lot of steps backward, too.
I had tons of fun with LeBron even before his buffs. There was a lot of good ideas under the hood here but PFG had awful communication. At no point did we have a clear idea as to the direction they were trying to go with this and they never addressed any of the REAL problems like hit/hurt boxes until it was way too late. Adding mechanics like shields and techs is cool and all but why not wait until you've got a handle on all of the spelling errors in your rifts before trying to fundamentally change the game?
In all honesty though, it's sad to think you sat around obsessively thinking about this for that long.
