To begin with, I want to say that this game has left me absolutely amazed. I started playing it 3 days ago, and by the time I'm writing this review, I already have 16 hours of playtime and 74% of the story completed. Since I was a child, I've been a Spider-Man fan, and this game really makes me feel like him. The story is amazing, the graphics are incredibly beautiful, and the combat is very well done. In the past, I also played the game 'Spider-Man Miles Morales,' but once I finish this one, I plan to replay it to better understand the story. I'm really looking forward to the release of the new Spider-Man 2 game, from which I honestly have very high expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this game, especially to Spider-Man fans. 11/10.

I have almost 100 hours on this game and i'm still finding new things to do. The story has amazing twists and turns, the characters can feel relatable and the graphics make it seem like a movie although the game is six years old you always have something to do or save someone! I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoys action packed story games! 10/10

Another one of those games where I wish a "meh" rating existed. Let's look at the good first:

Swinging around the city is fun (for a while) and you definitely feel like Spider-Man. They did a good job of capturing this.

The ending is pretty good for a comic book style story.

That's pretty much where the good ends for me and the bad heavily outweighs it:

Combat in this game sucks. It's about as deep as a puddle and you've seen essentially all the enemy types about 3 hours in to the game. While you unlock new moves and gadgets the combat doesn't fundamentally change in any way and this gets really tiresome. It really feels like the Arkham combat system but downgraded in every way which is crazy considering that system is from 2009. You have all these things you COULD do as Spider-Man to build on that system and make it awesome but it simply isn't there.

The side missions are terrible. There's nothing else to say about it. There are too many side missions and objectives, the rewards from them are too mediocre, and they're so repetitive (especially base missions).

Since the combat changes so little and your suit abilities and gadget upgrades impact it in such small ways there doesn't feel like much of a need to complete side content either. Maybe this is good but when you get skill upgrades or gadget upgrades as lame as "you get one extra charge" it's not something that really makes you want to do these activities.

The stealth portions suck. This game is from 2018 and holy smokes do to the stealth portions feel really outdated even by 2018 standards. Oh you're swinging around and fighting guys? Better be time to stealth around behind some crates and create distractions. Thankfully these make up less than an hour of the game but when you have to play them it's a real chore. It does the characters of MJ and Miles a disservice as they're pretty interesting in terms of the story but these segments really detract.

There are annoying technical issues that still present themselves. I'm running this on a 20GB vram card with an NVME drive and somehow textures don't load fast enough when some portions of the game load??? Not only that but sometimes they take multiple seconds to load, what the heck is that? It's inexcusable. There are also random "loading" freezes where the game simply hangs and makes you think it has crashed, and various audio problems where phone calls do not feel real because there is a significant pause between the lines each person is saying. I have no idea what causes this since if it was an issue loading it from my NVME drive this would present itself in other ways in other games but this is the first and only game where this has happened at all. Everything else in every game loads INSTANTLY.

Overall this is an okay super hero game with a less than stellar story that only truly gets good at the end (I don't know why the writing and story couldn't be as interesting for the first 90% but I guess we'll never know). The combat which makes up the majority of the game is only okay, there is nowhere near enough music (seriously screw the music where you are swinging through the city, we can only get one track for something we're doing all the time? Come on now), the side missions are the worst of the worst when it comes to open world games, and it just isn't that great. As I said it's a "meh" and only buy it on sale type of game. It's too basic and boring gameplay wise to have kept me interested in doing anything more. Only buy on a sale.

Heaps of fun. Everyone telling you that this game is awesome is right.

The game sucks. game play is rough, unpolished, and feels very mechanical. I will probably never play this.

1 sonny idea of fun is making me smash a button 10 times to lift things do some mechanics etc.. not really fun and sometimes not clear even what should i click
2. i didnt buy spiderman game to play merry jane or some black man.
3. controls are really bad.
