"As with the marked answer to this post, we are here and observe feedback from the players all the time but that doesn't mean you'll necessarily get a response unless we have something important to add. Keep giving us your well-meaning feedback and we'll make sure to take it into account as we continue to develop the next update."
You are not guaranteed a response. As they already stated several times over, there won't be a roadmap, both here and on discord. Doubt you pressing the issue with roadmap would be considered "well-meaning feedback" at this stage.
As you said you found discord you can message them directly and ask right?
your thoughts on the matter are neither relevant nor desired. you yourself said that they see steam and will respond if they are addressed. i dont know why you feel this uncontrollable urge to needlessly defend the devs of this game, but i assure you, it is weird
a dev posted in a previous thread a day ago and said that they do check steam and encouraged feedback, another dev saying that they are 'here' a week ago. The roadmap thing is constructive feedback: they will now do it, because they indicated that the only reason they are not doing it is because of steam rules, or they can hear that if they aren't doing one simply because they don't want to, trying to blame it on steam rules makes them appear deceptive
ill also point out to you that 'roadmap' was not my only concern and that you aren't going to get any awards for white knighting
He posted after I did message him on Discord about this weird dude SamTheMan hassling me about it.. and I linked him your post to stroke your ego, so yes... People can read that thread even its locked and see how you went on about it right?
Just because you make a post doesn't mean you are assured a response as the dev said. tbh, you don't seem really that "well meaning". Your other concern about "someone said".. who someone said? If it wasn't a dev, does it matter?
You are the type of person that get told no 100 times, and then expect different outcome at the 101th time ain't you? -)
I didnt hassle you about anything-YOU made the offer to do it, and I took you up on your offer. Then you tried to backpedal and I refused to allow it, much to your dismay. You assured me the devs would engage with me if I directly addressed them which I have now done. They have said they are here on the forums, they are obviously going to read a thread that says 'Dear Devs', so if they still don't respond then that is useful information for people to know.
No one has told me no by the way, but you are being told that your insistence on inserting yourself where don't belong is, again, weird
The other thread got locked because you guys are toxic and cant stand the slightest criticism and make defending this game your entire personality
Also, I think it's funny that you think we are "white knighting" and making defending them our entire personality when YOUR entire personality is attacking them. Like there are 3 or 4 of us talking to you and you are responding to all of us so who here is spending more time in these discussions lol?
They stated their reasons for not doing it and that's all they owe you or anyone else, nothing more.
It's an amazing game and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
Unsubscribing from this thread as talking to you is almost as fun as hitting my head against a brick wall.
Sweet little lies there bro....
I offered to refer to you if you wanted to engage with them because you was to afraid of use discord (of which you now stated you had used? weird that). You refused to post anything anyone would want to respond to. Everyone can check the closed thread, and see you did no effort what so ever to address or engage with the dev. I even replied to the devs initial post in that thread to kick the ball, and then you got upset.
Did the devs post in that thread address anything you said or an attempt from you to engage with them? No... Neither did the post by the dev give you a future "assurance" that they would reply to anything you said with certain.
Let me quote it one more time....
"As with the marked answer to this post, we are here and observe feedback from the players all the time but that doesn't mean you'll necessarily get a response unless we have something important to add. Keep giving us your well-meaning feedback and we'll make sure to take it into account as we continue to develop the next update."
I doubt post number 100, 200, or 300 about roadmaps, will give any other result...
someone is mad here but it's not me. i never said i was 'scared' of using discord or that i wasn't on the discord, and that doesnt change what you offered: what you did say was that you would message them for me, and then after i said yes, you made a bunch of excuses and tried to add preconditions. i didnt let you weasel out of it and now you are upset over having to do something that you said you would do. i said 4 times in the thread that i wanted to engage with the devs, you ensured me that they would engage, then the thread got locked for toxicity. so i made another post that was giving constructive feedback, per dev request, and you and the clown brigade decided to be mad that someone is posting on steam and asking the devs questions.
you did say that the devs would respond if they were engaged with, you said you were SURE they would respond if i directly addressed them, and the devs said that they watch the forums and invited feedback, so they have no reason to not respond, since my questions are important and they can clarify what is going on. there were three other people in that thread that expressed the same concerns that i did so you cant argue that im the only one who cares about this. or you can do a search on this forum for 'roadmap'. or you can do a search on the discord for 'roadmap'. them getting new information that shows them they can post a roadmap without violating steam rules is a big deal.
you can keep getting mad that people are asking questions of the devs if you want though, we'll see how it works out for you and how much more fulfilling your life gets

Q: Will there be a post launch roadmap?
A: No, we're not allowed due to steam early access rules - see below for the Steam Early Access rules...
Do not make specific promises about future events. For example, there is no way you can know exactly when the game will be finished, that the game will be finished, or that planned future additions will definitely happen. Do not ask your customers to bet on the future of your game. Customers should be buying your game based on its current state, not on promises of a future that may or may not be realized.
Lets say they release a roadmap based on what they hope to be able to add and do for the game, let's say that this roadmap look something like this "RM1-RM2-RM3-RM4-RM5-RM6-RM7-RM8-RM9" and then they go back at doing what they have to do developing this game and in the months that come we get this "RM4-RM7-RM2-RM1-RM8-RM9" you say no one will be bothered and everyone will understand that the roadmap was just hope and wishes, i reserve the right to highly doubt that, why?, if you look at how people act toward incomplete mechanic or unoptimized function you quickly see them act as if it should be already a finished product and jumping on the scam or liar term, i also would be curious to know, but i think that keeping it internally is a sound decision, will it please everyone, obviously not or you would not be here talking about it, so then all that we can do is turn around and look at what they decided, which was to apply steam rules to the letter, is it what you hope for, is it the best decision, maybe, maybe not, but they decided not to.
As for there presence here they've said previously that they do come here, and from what i gather, more to look than to interact, even if here and there they do interact, they've chosen discord as their main method of interaction. But why not here on steam the platform they've release the game on, i think it's mostly due to the practical aspect, file uploading, image uploading, and better feedback gathering due to user been able to "upvote" feedback and bug more clearly than here.
with that said, i, am not part of the dev team, i am a player just like you and a player that was quite angry when Last Oasis was neglected, partially abandoned and now sometime worked on at a snail pace, and i was quite anxious after i bought this game as i did not check who was the dev prior to buying bellwright and honestly i probably would have waited if i would have known, but what is done is done, so far i must admit, i am happy i think they released sufficient update to keep my hope up, they show interest and openness to other opinions and have been interacting on the plateform they chosen to carry those plenty, they do reply and follow up on bug report and show interest on feedback and are more than active on their preview branch and question section, is this a guarantee, of course not, but one thing is for sure i, again personally prefer to see there communication effort in one spot and then go back to work creating a game than to spread there effort all over replying to a question that as already been answered numerous time than the opposite.
Again, imo
thank you for the great way in which you revealed that you didn't read the original post at all
super proud of you for making this so easy for me
that isnt what i said
i said most people understand what a roadmap is, which is not a promise or guarantee, i didnt say no one would be upset if a roadmap didnt accomplish its goals. i also specifically said that if the real reason they don't want to do a roadmap is for the reason that you stated, then they should just say that. if that is the real impetus behind the decision, then they are being deceptive if not outright lying when they say that the reason that they aren't doing is because it violates steam's rules, which it doesnt
