So you not only have to beat the 15 guys holding the prisoner, you have to also beat the nearby bandit camp? Not to mention the three roving bandit groups in the same field as you. I tried to do this solo since it is so hard to bring reservist with me to the other side of the map. Did that once and lost 8 guys out of 10. I'm about to give up after getting killed the 10th time. They have this down as an easy task. Yeah right.

Rally 16 soldiers via staging grounds and sent them to meet me at a crossroads near the objective on the other side of the map. Not one of them made it. All had heavy armor and level 6 or better one-armed or two and four were archers level 5.

You mean food buffs? I give them all berry jam. What are combat buffs?

Well there's your problem. Food is as important as gear. They need to be eating at minimum smoked meats and fine stew early. Fine stew is the first one that gives combat buff. Once you get the inn there are more.

YOOO wow.. Berry jam omg I'm dead.. hahaha

This is amazing.. you might as well have sent them out naked.

but seriously as tamu said food is just as important than gear.. it gives you buffs and GREATLY increases your villagers health. I personally use smoked large meat, smoked meat and fine stew. You could also use meat stew but the fine stew is important.

I make sure they eat before we leave but how do I ensure they eat this specifically before combat? Do I need to carry this myself and hand it out before we engage? What am I... the pack mule to carry 15 pieces of smoked meat or stew?

Put the cooked food you want them to eat in the first slots of storage. They grab from top left to bottom right and skip raw foods if cooked is available. Set the amount of food for them to grab in the squad menu
