I have ran into the exact same problem in my playthrough! But then worse, after the Groke chase scene, I get the same issue, but it can not be skipped unlike the viewing spots… Totally soft-locked now :(

Looks like it could be due to aspect ratio (from another post I can’t link because of crappy mobile app). Putting the game on 1080p could fix the issue

Yes changing resolution to 1920 x 1080 worked for me

Running the game in Compatibility mode for Windows 8 worked for me, even allows me to play in 4K 60fps

same thing happening to me when I play, after the chase I am stuck with a soft lock

Sorry to hear about this issue, seems like some video files aren’t working. We’ll find a solution as soon as we can!

This issue is due to some video files in 4k resolution not working as they should. As a temporary fix while we work on a patch, either set your resolution in game settings to 1920x1080 or lower, or add this to Steam launch options to force 2k video size:
-limit2kvideo

I'm having the same problem, black screen at viewing spots and still frames at videos but I'm at lower that 1080 already, but my screen is 4:3
