BUG: Certain cutscenes fail to trigger and cause softlocks when playing in different aspect ratio

Current solution is to let the game force itself to change into 16:9 aspect ratio, continue the game and let the cutscene play out until it ends, then alt + enter to change it back to what ever aspect ratio you have set the game into like 4:3, 16:10 and etc.

Thank you so much! I played after setting the screen ratio of the game to 1920x1080 (16:9), and it freed me from the softlock.

i've reported the bug, they'll probably fix it in the next patch
also, running the game in win8 compatibility mode works too and allows you to have any setting you want

Thanks for reporting!
This issue is due to some video files in 4k resolution not working as they should. As a temporary fix while we work on a patch, either set your resolution in game settings to 1920x1080 or lower, or add this to Steam launch options to force 2k video size:
-limit2kvideo
