Softlock - Some cutscenes won't load

Just bought the game and really enjoying it.

But i think i might be softlocked... After the Groke chase there's dialog with hedgehog and there's a cutscene after that and it simply not loading. The inputs stop working, animations work but i can't do anything. Only alt+F4 helps. Same thing happening with the sightseeing on a pier (where you help mother bird to find her children) - after pressing the button nothing happens and i can't proceed. Tried a new game just now - didn't seem to help. Verifying the files also with no luck. Already reported the bug to the support forum, this discussion just for the information if anyone facing the same issue.

i also tried changing the resolution, switching VSYNC and framerate limit - no luck

Same thing happend to me. The Grook scene randomly worked for me today in big screen mode, but got stuck on another scene after that.

Same thing here. I played the game for the first time yesterday, just after it had updated with a patch. So I'm going to take a guess that the new patch messed something up as people don't seem to have been talking about this issue before.

I'll add that I tried the game on two different laptops and the same issue, so it seems fairly widespread.

I'm experiencing the same issue, in both cases (groke and pier). Also already reported.

I had a feeling I wasn't the only one experiencing this problem, both the pier and groke scenes just softlock me out of everything. Gonna report it as well, hope it can get fixed :[

Same issue here. The dialogue with the hedgehog ends after he says "He sure was" and nothing happens. No inputs are working.

I had the same problem, but I played the game with the screen ratio set to 16:9 (I chose 1920x1080), referring to the thread at the URL below, and I’m now free from the softlock in the dialog with the hedgehog.
Thanks to them who gave me the solution!

Thanks for reporting!
This issue is due to some video files in 4k resolution not working as they should. As a temporary fix while we work on a patch, either set your resolution in game settings to 1920x1080 or lower, or add this to Steam launch options to force 2k video size:
-limit2kvideo
