A relatively small (compared to last weeks update!) but a very awesome and very welcome patch for today. We've finally gotten around to overhauling the lighting in the game, and it makes suuuuch a huge difference! It was something we always knew we needed to rework, but it was only once we actually made the changes that we realised how dark and unsaturated the old settings. This new update actually makes the game so much more appealing to look at!

The full (short-but-sweet) patch notes are:

• Lighting overhaul! The lighting has been massively improved throughout the game entirely! Making it much easier to see and build in dark areas.
  
• As well as the general lighting improvements, we've also improved the quality of the baked shadows, to reduce weird shadows appearing. If you see any glaring ones we've missed, let us know!
  
• We've now made it possible to modify rope segment lengths/weights using the selection tool.
  
• Animals are now place-able objects in the sandbox mode. Just scroll up to choose the different animals!
  
• Fixed a UI bug with the character selection widget

As I said, this was a relatively small (but welcome!) update to the game!

Hey everyone! We’ve just released a massive update packed with new content, enhanced building mechanics, better physics, tons of improvements across the board and more!

• Explore the vast new level of The Great Loch level featuring 9 brand new missions, focused on the new water mechanics.

---

• New Characters & Character Selection Screen: Choose between a new and improved enjenir model, as well as some brand new characters! If you prefer the OG Enjenir, he's still available to play as!
  
• Click + Drag Beams & Logs: Place beams and logs much faster using our new click and drag option which makes it much easier to build large structures!
  
• Improved Sheet Placement: Similarly with sheets, instead of placing every sheet manually, we've now improved the sheet placement system to allow you to click and drag any distance with sheets - and the game will automatically place as many sheets needed to cover the distance.
  
• “Lock to Plane” for Sheets: This is now a toggle feature (press Shift) to make sheet placement easier (also seen in the gif above!)
  
• Command Chair: Lock the Enjenir and camera in place when seated in the command chair, making vehicle control much easier! WASDQE bindings with the wiring system are also now supported to make your own custom WASD controls for vehicles!
  
• Build on Water: We've improved water based contraption building by allowing you to build structures directly on water! This makes building boats and water based vehicles much easier!
  
• Cannons Added: Placeable cannons are now available in sandbox mode!
  
• Pistons, Rotators, & Wheels: The physics settings within the engine have been tweaked to now ensure that certain physics based items are significantly stronger and more stable. For examples, rotators - which can only twist previously would bend when under enough force. This has been improved which will increase the stability of larger contraptions! Similar changes have been applied to Wheels, and Ropes!
  
• New and improved ropes: Ropes in general have been greatly improved and made much more stable and less likely to randomly jank out. Spontaneous explosions have been greatly reduced!
• Scalable Balloons: You can now adjust the size of balloons for even more design options. The balloons offer forces proportional to their volume, so instead of using lots and lots of small balloons, 1 medium balloon will offer the same force! Not only does it make your builds slicker and more stable, it also helps performance using one balloon instead of many!
  
• Water Piles: Added water piles for easier construction of water-based structures. These static piles reach all the way to the sea-floor and provide a strong base to build your water structures from.

• Price Adjustments: Adjusted the cost of balloons, anvils and wyvern engines for better balance.
  
• Improved Sheet Placement: Sheets now minimize gaps more effectively when placed.
  
• More Accurate Beam and Log Placement: Precision has been improved for better alignment of structures.
  
• Wyvern Adjustments: Wyvern weight and force have been rebalanced.
  
• Fixed a bug where the character would turn upon spawn before player control was established.
  
• Invisible Node Bug Fixed: Nodes should now behave as expected.
  
• NPC Deletion Bug: Resolved an issue where NPCs could be deleted unintentionally.
  
• Sand Mesh Interactions: Sand meshes no longer interfere with foundation blocks, making it easier to build secure foundations on sand.
  
• Performance Improvement: Fixed a performance issue with measurement lines that was causing frame rate drops.
