Hi, I will. Though I have a base level understanding of the law in my country.
A lot of people received an email telling us this game is now available.
We didnt have the game wishlisted or anything. I've never heard of the game or company.
It came from this random shady company.
In some territories, the buying and selling of someone's personal data without the person's consent is illegal. Even obtaining the information is illegal. In my country, we learn about data protection acts in high school. So it's not just about being annoying and intrusive, it's illegal for some of us. That's why I've reported the game on it's Steam page.
And on top of that, they make us have to visit their web address (which btw, you should never do in a spam email, it's dangerous) to unsubscribe from their shady activities? Frustrating. And that doesn't guarantee it wont be sold and used again by a different group, or the same group under a different name.
I get what you're saying. Like 'it's just an email, just unsubscribe.'
But I dont see why in giving an inch, a company wont take a mile.
What's your skin colour? What's your height? Where do you live? Where do your parents live? What did you say online recently?
People would abuse this information for more than just selling a product and I just dont think that's safe. I'm not a minority or a weirdo or anything, I just live in a country with laws in place to protect from that and I care for other people and I hate spam emails
I'm more concerned about how good the game they've announced will be, I hope they do well
Also @Silverino, I saw your reply but I guess who or whatever moderates these forums removed it.
And yes, thanks to the moderators for deleting the inadequate message.
I defo don't believe that an adult would actually "argue" like him and fr not understand how spam is scummy at best, and illegal at worst. Then again, if I look at the current development of the world...
