It's really early days at the moment for Ia, It should be considered as early alpha very early access Late indev / early alpha so expect bugs and crashes running native on windows let alone anything else.

This can not be considered being in early alpha when there isn't even a working AI to play against.

I think what we have so far fit's roughly into the "late pre production/early alpha" I haven't yet come across a definition that states alpha access must have a working skermish Ai.

Still if it makes you happy I'll update my definition to "Very early access"

It's called indev or development build.

  • Pre-Production is the planning phase before you start the development of the game.

  • Concept Builds (optional) are done when it's not certain the game can be built to expectations or to prove viability to those who might fund the development. These often also look like vertical slices, like what we saw with Anthem's first trailer or The Day Before.

  • Indev or Development Builds is the early to mid development phase of making a video game. This is the main phase of game development.

  • Alpha is when the game's mechanics are mostly worked out and you are in the starting phase of balancing those mechanics. Graphics are mostly finalized and are in the final state of being put into the game.

  • Beta is when the game is near completion and game mechanics are mostly dialed in. All that is left is tackling important bugs before the game's release.

  • Gold is general term when the game is considered complete and viable to ship for public release.

So I was correct, to the point of this being somewhere between early alpha and late indev.

    will amend my terminology.
