This looks familiar
I remember watching the PA kickstarter and preordering the steam EA. I learned 2 things from that:
1. They will eventually make the game pretty good and meet most of their promises in the coming years, and they will charge you an extra $90 for it.
2. Never ever, under any circumstances preorder anything.

Planetary Annihilation: Titans. Launched at an initial price of $29.99 on Steam
Those who got the original Planetary Annihilation on steam Ea received a discount on the Titans expansion, bringing the price down to $10.59
For those people with selective memories =)

Just a reminder that the $90 price tag was to match the price of the tier on Kickstarter for alpha/beta access. Imagine if people paid $90 on Kickstarter, but when the builds are available on steam, the same builds would only cost $25 screwing over backers. That's why the price was that high.

I dont really give a ♥♥♥♥ what it was for, or why. The fact that Titans wasnt a free update is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up considering they promised it would be base game. Ill eat my hat if they dont do the same kind of shady ♥♥♥♥ with this game

Titan units or a free unit expansion pack was NOT shown on any stretch goal.
It was never promised for the base game, everything shown was delivered eventually.
Titans was given away for free to all kickstarter backers, and at a decent discount for steam Ea users.

I don't know how people are forgetting this. I feel the gameplay loop in pa was a bit too complex, but they were pretty upfront about a lot of things. Had some cool concepts as well.

Ye I mean I can understand how the misconceptions started and why some people felt cheated but when you dig a little deeper most of the negatives are based on stuff that's just not true or questionable at best.

Man. I agree. NEVER preorder ANYTHING but I give these guys a pass for a lot of things.
Like, if it was EA or Ubisoft then id be flipping out but its not like they have a studio of 1000 people, offices with bicycles, late machines and 4 hour wine breaks before team meetings.

I imagine more like 5-10 friends working over at a guys house or something.

They make great games so I support them. I am a HUGE PA:Titans lover (Mostly thanks to Quitch and GW) and I also like factory games so this seemed like a natural fit for my crippling mental disability's/autism/retardation/whatever.

I really hope it shapes up to be even bigger than PA, even if it takes them 10 years and costs an extra $90. I want Galactic War but the planets im invading are being supplied by my already conquered ones. If I mess up production on previous planets then future ones will suffer a lack of units, resources and my war-machine will grind to a halt.

I doubt thats going to happen but a guy can dream haha
