Making factory elements bigger would mean making your factory bigger, which would in turn most likely require you to play zoomed out further most of the time...
The game looks fantastic though.
Readability is going to be absolutely paramount in the midst of a battle, so you're going to want to want to be able to understand your factory at a glance. If I have to hover over or click each factory to see what it is, what it does and what it's currently doing, that's going to cause frustration. There's a bit of player-learning that will bridge the gap, but I feel like we're not quite there yet.
As with most things in game dev, if we have thought of it then the devs have probably thought of it too. Would love to know what the plans are for general readability. Things like power delivery are still a bit unclear, units don't show where they are going/what they are doing and if I can add nothing else: please please please show weapon ranges when selecting a turret/unit. This was a real headache in PA.
