Castlevania DLC issues
Just a few rough patches I've noticed playing through the dlc.
- The bridge section before the clocktower triggers some sort of spawn increase that isn't properly configured because it never turns off no matter where in the map you go. It's also way too high. This is in addition to the swarm of small enemies that often appears at one spot near the border.
- Brachyura's hitbox is sloppy, it covers the empty area between the claws, and extends a bit above that. It's hard to kite him with he can hit you without touching you.
- Minotaur often appears and approaches through the wall, which can lead to him sitting on the character and instakilling them.
- Raging Fire's lockon breaks when the enemy it's stuck to dies, making it snap back to the character, and often miss everything entirely. It should stay where it is if lock is broken.

First one is intentional outside of not stopping when you leave, ain't it? Its just telling you "wrong character"

Getting stuck under throne room at the end of the map is also "fun". You can get there while walking through bottom layer of floor/walls at fast/broken speed or just walk in like normal but clip through floor somehow and fall down (happened 2 times). Would like unstuck option with this dlc.

The Mace Evolution laggs/freezes the game ALOT when the crits triggers.

I thought this was on purpose since it happens SO OFTEN.

One I have is an overwhelming swarm of enemies sometimes.
Don't really know what triggers it but more often than not the game's going crazy and mobs are running like the game is at 120 FPS (but my character is still at 60 FPS) AND there's way too many of them all of a sudden.

At some point I thought it was the wings fault but I just quit the game and I had the same bug without taking it.
Only other thing I can think of is the use of the portals but I already have runs where I use them and nothing bad happened.

Really frustrating since it ruins the run everytime. :/

Had no mace or any Ode dlc weapons evolved there. It happened on 1st run with contra no weapons at start character Simondo Belmont (after a while so many Contra buff items were on ground that i had full screen of non-stop blindness and had trouble navigating boss spawn circles/glyphs, and no boss was ever noticable on screen by then). Monster rush is even more broken at the very end of the map, behind doors. Might help to disable mob spawn cursed upgrades for that.

It happened with me today too, Mace evolved (giant hammer) gives some hiccups on the game when it crits (14000+ DMG). Tried using Sypha since I thought it was because of Hector's familiars but the same thing happened, hiccups and then it gets worse and freezes the game forcing me to close it.

All tests on Ode to Castlevania map, there wasn't a lot of things on screen and the game never crashed before, even on more crazy and intense moments that I couldn't even see my char because of my crazy and broken builds :trolol:

This happens only if this weapons crits, maybe it has something to do with the math it does for crit and the number being so big? There wasn't a lot of crits at screen, maybe 2 or 3 at once but usually only one.

I'm on the latest version.

Sorry for necroing this thread. But it seems better than creating a new one for the same problem.


--Another bug: Atlantean guardian respawn after killing some bosses in this map, after you kill the boss, I'm not sure but it seems related to bosses that spawn a book when they die. If you have killed a guardian before, one of them will randomly respawn after that. I've seen even once or twice it respawn before I killed it (encountered and ignored so it was pursuing me) making a "twin" of it.

I think you can turn off the hammer's hitstop by turning off screenshake?

Yeah turning off screenshake makes it work waaay better for me

The Atlanteans is not 'respawning'. If one appears then it means you have random events active. An atlantean may spawn together with a rare pick up. Like a random skill, or candy box/arma dio.

The upgraded Refectio spellbook will 1shot atlantean when it charges up the screenwipe.

Well, it never happened in any other map before and I always play with random events ON. Unless its a specific gimmick from this map I don't see how can this be the case. It spawns only when a magical book drops from a boss and only if I have met it before in the map (the same specific Atlantean that I met appear, not a random one, and only if I met one before in the map, just to make it clear).

This doesn't happen if you disable random events? I've met the same Atlantean 3 times in one run (original, copy of it by dropping a book and then another one by dropping a book again). These are Gale Force and Ice books, drops from sealed bosses.
I have seen Atlanteans spawning in other maps too.
