And with SIG's ability of releasing updates, even back when they did on a more frequent schedule, they're far away from fixing anything quickly. With how the act on the different platforms and in interviews I also get the impression that they don't really worry about the state of the game as far as we players. It seems like they view the EA version of the game like the pre-alpha prototype.
One thing is for sure if the game makes a comeback it won't be a fast one, but a slow and steady one instead cause the problems the game has are just too many in numbers to be tackled with a few minor patches.
Before any of you rush to respond just think about that for a minute or two and maybe you will realise that what's going on is a handful of angry people are review bombing the game because they're upset about the current situation and NOT because the game is bad or deserves negative scores.
That's just a matter of opinion, there's been jank and full on game breaking bugs, duping, getting ejected into space, podding out into the mesh of an asteroid, falling under the map etc. Just to name a few, that have been present throughout this game's life cycle.
That's not without each update either stripping content (Ship customisation) or hard nerfing everything from movement to every weapon that's "over-used".
If people are reviewing this game negatively they're well within their right to do so at this point. And it's not anger driving them, it's just disappointment.
No, it's not "just a matter of opinion" and you took that completely out of context. I know what early access means, and what kind of issues are pretty normal for a game that's still in development especially when the team working on the game is very small which is the case here. What's truly unfortunate that others just don't get it. You should understand, you've been around long enough and I'm pretty sure you're at least somewhat aware of what has been going on behind the scenes since you're on Discord often enough...
They didn't "strip content" by changing how ships work, if anything they added more options. The "ship customisation" you're talking about was always very limited. All we were able to do was change the weapons. Now we have a variety of ships to choose from that have slightly different stats, varying storage sizes (crafted ships have more storage) and different weapons. Keep in mind that ships, ship combat, and the space portion of the game are still very much a work in progress plus it's always possible they will bring back some level of ship customisation in the future.
There were no "hard nerfs" either. It's called balancing and that's going to be happening up to, and probably after, the game hits version 1.0. The movement changes were necessary, this was never meant to be a movement shooter so when they realised it was getting closer to that than originally intended they made some adjustments. Necessary adjustments, not "hard nerfs."
It's not disappointment - it is misplaced anger. Just read the negative reviews and you'll see how far off base most of them are. One of them just states "piling on the negative reviews" and nothing more than that, others make the false claim that the game is "abandonware" when we all know it isn't - we've been told that the developers are still hard at work and one of the QA team, [SIG]Sherogorat, even told us he has seen parts of the next update. Others are claiming the game is "full of hackers" which also isn't true.
With basically the entire playerbase gone, the all time rating is inflated because those people aren't going to come back to the page just to change their review.
No one is "review bombing" the game, that's pure cope.
No, it's absolutely not.
Nope, it's not "pure cope" and yes, some of them are review bombing - and FYI It's not the first time it's happened. Not my problem if you folks can't see it for what it is but I made it pretty clear above that some of the reviews are not based on facts at all.
No, it does not deserve a negative score. The all time rating isn't "inflated."
Yes, it is misplaced. 100%. There's no need for it at all. People simply need to learn to be patient and try to understand the situation - and it's been explained over and over. You've been here for those conversations so you know better.
The only "bombarding" that's going on is what's contained in some of the negative reviews. Many of them aren't genuine. As I mentioned above some people are calling the game "abandonware" but anyone who's been around for a while knows that's not true including some of the people making that bogus claim.
How is it out of context, please let me know.
Yeah I've been around long enough to see the following;
- Apology for radio silence, followed by radio silence
- Multiple Team members leave the project
- Update cycles go from months to almost a year
- Complete disregard for community feedback / bugs
- Placating with "game being worked on"
Please enlighten me as to where I can develop your telepathic abilities to claim to know why people are leaving negative reviews.
Got banned off these forums, went for a vacation on others and are now back huffing the same copium yet again.
I'll change my viewpoint with regards to this game when I see some actual action and content updates, not because you're telling me I have to be understanding of a team that completely mismanaged their game, have a good one!
I'm done with this game. You're my 13th reason why. Maybe start listening to the handful of players you have left.
1 ) Same boring POIs and Maps
2 ) Maps people dont want to play are forced on us for rotation.
3 ) Guild hideout requires grinding to make it even remotely interesting.
4 ) No way to silence the stupidly annoying jukebox in the hideout.
5 ) Resets of gear and items.
6 ) Fully agree Duppers should receive a 4 week ban.
7 ) having to grind the same rep gear over and over again after resets.
8 ) Airlock fights get old. its time for Mounted machine Guns in the ship's airlock.
9 ) too small of ship maps and instances.
