Your post here is just another one on the pile of the "PvE/Coop Mode" threads. The devs set from the get go that a PvE or single player mode isn't planned and haven't moved from that position for the 2+ years the game has been in EA. So no chance there.
For the price reducing it would definitely make more people pick it up, but that would require a lot of paperwork between SIG, Team17 and SIG and it wouldn't change the core problems of the game those being vets lobby stomping new players, the lack of meaningful longterm progression and all the other in-game systems that are underdeveloped or just straight up placeholders. So I don't see them taking action there either.
One thing where SIG accommodated the players though is the player minimum to start a match. According to their community management the minimum of crews to start a match got reduced from 6 to 2-3 crews. So at least finding a match got easier.
Ain't the solution to all the game's problems but it's at least something.
Edit: The last part isn't confirmed by SIG. It's just an observation from the community managers.
