Is there a way to load from last checkpoint?

I enjoyed what I played so far but the game seemingly makes you lose all your progress every single time you need to quit the game. I understand it's hard and I like the spread out checkpoints, it makes death punishing and more satisfying when you do finally hit a checkpoint. But asking the player to beat the game in one sitting for 2+ hours is more frustrating than fun. Am I missing something here? Or is there really no saving checkpoint progress in any way?...

I like the game very much, but seriously, there should be more frequent checkpoints.

Dev, you don't want to make your players stressed out, really. This game has a lot of fun potential with more checkpoints.

Really bad screen tearing

For some reason whenever I play the game, I'm getting really bad screen tearing, the game seems to run at 59fps or something and I can't get it to run at 60 or use vsync. How do I fix it?
