This game...is a MASTERPIECE!

I had high standards, because of the first game, but they didn't disappoint...They even exceeded my expectations.
There is so much fun, love and joy in this game.
The story and the characters are written so well, the gameplay/combat is soooo fun, there are some sidequests where i was laughing my ass of for like an hour, some very cool easter eggs, nice armors....and everything feels sooooo real, like...you wanna be a real knight? Then play this game.

I could say so much more. But you should try this yourself. YEAH...I MEAN YOU! ;)

Also....in germany we would say "ohrwurm"...This game gave me the biggest f*ckin OHRWURM of my life...
Like every day this song "Henry, our hero Henry, the fellow who helps his fellow man…" is stuck in my head...

In my opinion, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 was one of the best RPGs of the past decade-despite its notorious bugs and performance issues when I play it (some of which still persist). It had a gripping story, an immersive open world, and a memorable cast of characters. KCD2 takes all of that and improves upon it in almost every way. This game is close to masterpiece. Close.

KCD2 is a fantastic open-world RPG packed with content, making it well worth the price. In an industry flooded with half-baked releases, this game stands alongside the best of the past decade, proving that passion and quality still matter. While it has flaws-some of which I'll discuss-they don't ruin the experience.

The Bad:
Stealth - As someone who isn't overly fond of stealth mechanics, I found KCD2 relies on them far more than its predecessor-and they're not well-implemented. Several missions force you into stealth with no alternatives, breaking the roleplaying experience. There are too many of these sections, and they often feel frustrating rather than rewarding.
Henry - I found Henry far more irritating in this game, which is a problem considering he's the protagonist. There are multiple instances where his dialogue and actions are scripted, regardless of your playstyle. The game seems intent on steering him down a "righteous" path, even if you prefer a more ruthless or pragmatic approach. Personally, I enjoyed playing a rogue Henry pillaging, killing, and following orders, no matter how brutal but the game constantly nudges you toward being the noble hero. On top of that, Henry can be downright idiotic at times.
The Saving System - This was a major issue in the first game, and it's just as frustrating here. A game with frequent stealth sections should not have a restrictive save system. Being forced to redo long sequences because you can't save freely is infuriating. PC players can fix this with mods, but console players are out of luck.
Archery - If you enjoyed using bows in KCD1, prepare for disappointment. Archery has been massively downgraded. It feels clunky, imprecise, and practically useless. The game clearly pushes you toward crossbows or, worse, those awful pistols.
No Theresa - This is a huge loss. Theresa was the heart and soul of the first game, yet here she's only briefly mentioned. While characters like Katherine and Rosa are great, none of them fill the void she left.

The Good:
Visuals - If you thought KCD1 looked great, KCD2 blows it out of the water. The environmental detail is stunning-no game does trees, foliage, and landscapes quite like this one. The world feels alive, and the lighting is breathtaking. Watching the sunrise paint the hills in golden hues is a sight to behold. Character models are mostly well done, though a few faces are clearly copy-pasted.
Length & Content - The main story alone took me 60 hours, and that's without touching the many side missions. If you dive into everything, this is easily a 200+ hour experience. Add in the RPG elements that shape the story, and you're looking at over 300 hours of gameplay. This is what RPGs should be-massive, immersive, and rewarding. Why would anyone spend £60+ on a game they can complete in 10 hours?
Characters - Aside from Henry, every character in KCD2 is fantastic. Your group of misfit friends, Hans, even the minor NPCs-they all feel distinct and well-written. I do wish Radzig and Hanush had bigger roles (they're basically cameos), and Divish is notably absent. That said, the cast is excellent. Also, Godwin is back, and is a major character too. It's good to have him.
The Story - The biggest improvement over the first game. While KCD1 had a strong narrative, KCD2 takes it to another level. The story flows beautifully, with cinematic pacing and excellent dialogue. There are some truly standout moments that make it feel like a high-quality TV series or film.
Music - Just like the first game, the soundtrack is cinematic and brilliant.
Cinematics - The cutscenes in this game go hard. Seriously, if you stitched them together, you'd have an incredible movie. The direction and presentation are outstanding.
Polish - I can't speak for the console, or low-end PC performance, but on my high-end PC, the game runs beautifully. I encountered very few bugs. memory leaks and no game-breaking issues. Compared to the first game's, this is a massive improvement.

Final Thoughts:
KCD2 is a brilliant RPG and will likely be one of the best games of the year. Of course, bigger releases are on the horizon such as GTA VI, but this has set a high bar. Think Skyrim meets RDR 2 meets The Witcher 3 all wrapped up in a package that's both polished and well optimized. This game is amazing and feels like the antithesis of the usual AAA slop and respects you as the player by letting you think for yourself and grow with Henry.
As for the so-called "controversial themes" people keep talking about online-they're barely present. There are no forced LGBT moments, and anyone claiming otherwise hasn't played the game. They're lying. The inclusion of diverse characters is handled naturally, and Henry's reaction to meeting someone different from him is actually quite fitting for the time period. Complaints about this are just noise. I kinda like how Musa potrayed in this game. Especially during this Ramadhan 2025.

At the end of the day, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an easy 9/10. I do hope the devs fix some of its issues there are more than I listed here, but I didn't want this review to turn into a novel. I'm also looking forward to the DLCs and expansions. This world still has so many stories left to tell, and I sincerely hope this isn't the last we see of Kingdom Come. I feel quite hungry for Kingdom Come III !

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a monumental epic that transports us straight into 15th-century Bohemia, offering an unparalleled RPG experience. The developers at Warhorse Studios have created a world so realistic that you can almost smell the medieval streets and hear the clash of swords in the distance.

The story continues the adventures of Henry, who, after the numerous trials of the first game, once again faces challenges requiring courage, wit, and… the ability to stay awake during lengthy dialogues. Some of them are so detailed that you could learn medieval craftsmanship in the meantime.

The combat system remains true to realism, meaning that blindly swinging a sword will end as well as trying to negotiate with an enraged bear. Every fight requires precision and tactics, and the satisfaction of defeating an opponent is indescribable.

The visuals are stunning, packed with intricate details. The landscapes are so beautiful that you’ll want to stop and admire the view—if only to delay yet another mission involving delivering a letter to a neighboring village. The music perfectly complements the atmosphere, immersing you in the medieval setting.

Of course, the game isn’t without its minor flaws. Some NPCs have the charisma of a wooden plank, and certain animations resemble a robot’s dance after a few too many drinks. However, these small imperfections fade in comparison to the countless strengths of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

In summary, this is a must-play for any RPG fan looking to immerse themselves in an authentic medieval world full of challenges, intrigue, and humor that makes even the toughest quests enjoyable.

Is this game a masterpiece? Yes, absolutely, there is no better way to experience the life of a knight in the year 1403! Sword fighting, archery, sneaking, horse riding, a dramatic, brutal story with lots of twists and cutscenes. The game continues the story of the first instalment. We once again play as Heinrich von Skalitz, the (adopted) son of a blacksmith, who now works as a personal bodyguard for the nobleman Sir Hans Capon after all the dramatic events of the first instalment. We accompany him on a mission, but deep inside us lies the desire for revenge on Markvart. Revenge for the murder of our foster parents, and we also want to get back the noble sword that our foster father forged before his death and that was stolen as a trophy.

The game begins and all seems peaceful - our master has been commissioned to deliver a letter to Lord Otto von Bergow. As the postal service in 1403 was as reliable as the parcel services today, we prefer to deliver the sealed letter in person. So we ride in a small group of six men through Bohemia - which was quite sparsely populated at the time - and look forward to a bit of variety in the pub after delivering the letter. Bohemia was in turmoil at the time, however, because King Sigismund of Hungary had laid claim to the throne after the rightful king, his brother King Wenceslas IV, was captured by rebels. The best way to support such claims at the time was with an army, which now marched through the country and fought any nobles who refused to submit. There are those loyal to the king, rebels and, of course, bandits roaming the countryside. In short, the country is sinking into chaos and war. Just like the Middle Ages.

Of course, the delivery of the letter and subsequent rest in the pub does not go as planned. Careless behavior leads to the death of our people, we ourselves and our master only escape badly injured and find refuge with an old healer (with a daughter worth seeing) who helps us back on our feet. The letter is gone, as are our clothes, weapons, horses, companions, our faithful dog and everything else we had with us. Even our skill points have been reduced - because of the serious injury. Our enemies are searching the area for us - not a good starting point.

We now have to find our way around this world. This requires proper equipment. Sword, shield, crossbow, armor, a belt for a few weapons, a pouch for a few potions. The whole inventory management is much more complex than in most other games. The helmet, for example - you can't just pull any metal bucket over your head - you also need a soft base under the helmet. It's the same with the armor - you can't just wear it directly on your body, you need a padded vest in between. You can approach the game in different ways - with eloquence, by sneaking around (not in full armor, please), or with brute force. Soon you are faced with a large open world - small villages, bustling towns, mighty fortresses - inhabited by a variety of NPCs with whom we can interact - friendly or brutal? Soon we have several side quests to choose from, which can distract us from our main quest - but which can influence the game in different ways. And I don't mean that we receive a quest reward in the form of 100 pennies, for example - but through new allies or enemies, or developments that have an impact on the main story. Not even the brilliant Witcher 3 managed to make a world feel so realistic. We need food, a place to sleep, a little money... Just stealing anything lying around is not healthy - it leads to problems with the rightful owners.

The realistic depiction sometimes even goes a little too far. For example, you also have to brew potions. Find the ingredients, usually herbs of some kind. Then you need a place to brew the potion. A cauldron, a fire, a mortar. You look at the instructions in recipe book, then choose the liquid (water, wine, oil,...), heat it to the correct temperature, take the correct number of herbs, crush them (if necessary) in a mortar, add them to the potion and then bottle the result. Each step allows for slight variations, depending on the recipe. This all takes time - simply brewing a potion takes a little longer than quickly crafting a new laser pistol in most sci-fi survival games...

The world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is significantly larger than its predecessor. However, it is also filled with exciting stories and not just empty dazzle. Inhabitants going about their daily business (working, sleeping), having their own stories and problems and a variety of (often very creative) quests and other activities to pursue really bring the Kingdom of Bohemia to life - really great, but also a little scary. This is not a one-night stand - it will keep you glued to your screen for far longer.

The world is brutal. We can avoid many fights, but we can't do it without fighting. And when we do fight, we shouldn't lose - because defeat often means our death (and a reset to the last automatic save point). The most important weapon in close combat - at least for a knight - was the sword. But wielding it is not quite so easy. These things are big and heavy, so we need to be careful with our blows and not wave them around like a madman. The simulation of the sword fight is well done. Attacks from above, below and from the sides, and we can also parry enemy attacks. After a perfect parry, we can strike back particularly hard. If we hit an unarmored opponent with our sword, we cause a lot of damage, but if our opponent is wearing armor, he can withstand a few hits. We have to tire him out to find a weak spot. And in any case, we need to gain some skill in combat - despite the countless other possible activities in the game, we can't avoid fighting altogether. Swords are of course not the only weapons in the game - there are a whole host of different, realistically implemented weapons, including ranged weapons, from bows to deadly crossbows. Besides fighting, we interact with the world - we can sneak, jump, run, climb a little, ride a horse, swim like a dog, talk to other inhabitants in multiple-choice mode (under time pressure). The details in the game are incredible - we have to eat and sleep, keep our weapons in good working order - but we also have to wash ourselves sometimes, or we stink like the plague and that was a bit unpleasant even in the Middle Ages. There were no showers in the accommodation in the Middle Ages, but there were washing troughs and rivers. There were also bathhouses in the towns - and they weren't just for bathing...

The game shows you the world from a first-person perspective. When you move around, your head shakes. Normally, this makes me feel nauseous and I turn it off as quickly as possible in the options. Unfortunately, you can't turn it off here. Strangely enough, however, it didn't make me feel nauseous - I would still like to turn it off completely, but at least it's built in sparingly enough for me to still be able to play the game.

Conclusion:
This is one of the best medieval open-world action RPGs I have ever played. It doesn't have to hide behind genre giants such as Witcher 3 or Skyrim, which are now a little long in the tooth. It offers what I first felt in games like Ultima VI: The False Prophet (Origin, 1990) - a realistic world simulation in which you have the freedom to behave as you wish - but also have to live with the consequences of your actions. The story unfolds slowly and lets you really immerse yourself in the authentically modelled, merciless medieval world - where you can then linger for countless hours and keep discovering new details. Absolute masterclass!

I don’t even know where to begin or where to end. This game pulled me in like nothing has in years. From the moment I first started playing, I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time—a pure joy. It reminded me of why I fell in love with gaming in the first place. For the first time in years, I was truly captivated. I found myself thinking about it when I wasn’t playing, just waiting to return.

I have nothing but admiration for the dev team and their unwavering attention to detail. Everything, down to the smallest aspects, feels crafted with care. A simple Google search of your favorite character is enough to leave you in awe—how close they are to reality, from wounds to actions.

The game, as a whole, is incredible. Even when I found myself cursing certain missions, I still cherished every moment. It isn’t flawless—some animations feel off, cutscenes look a bit wonky—but strangely, that only adds to its charm. It reminds me of the first game, stirring a deep sense of nostalgia. And then there are the cinematics—breathtaking!

Now that it’s over, I get hit with a post-game depression I wasn’t prepared for. The world is still there, side quests waiting, places left unexplored… but that first-time magic, the journey itself, is gone. And that hurts in a way only the best games can.

This is how games should be made.

I do not recommend this game to new gamers. It'll easily ruin gaming for you. Most games youll pickup after KCD2 will fall short because you will rarely find a game this beautiful, larger than life, and abso♥♥♥♥inglutely brilliantly written.



However, I will a thousand times over recommend this if you're an exhausted gamer -- one who maybe even laid down his armour because modern gaming has too often failed your expectations.


Once more, at long last, it's time to don your best gear. Unlike the others, this one won't leave you unsatisfied -- only wanting more. Like that person you met 5 or so years ago. You've spent but a few moments with them, and yet, to this day, you still recall every single detail from that encounter.


This game is life itself oh so marvelously virtualized. Fantasy is way more fun than real life, you say? Why would you escape your life to play a game that feels just like it?


To that, I say, indeed. Why would anyone do that??


Get on your horse and find out -- ride with well-loved characters to witness firsthand everything that medieval Bohemia offers in KCD2.


When I said this game feels larger than life, I meant swordfighting that makes you feel like a true knight (or a bandit leader, if you will), environment so enchanting it can get you lost in awe for hours, NPCs that actually tug at the heart you thought has long stopped beating and make you genuinely care.


Side quests perfectly capable of distracting you from the main story for a hundred hours. They're hilarious (I swear i could smell those stinking turds), they keep you on your toes, and some may even leave you questioning your morals.


And if you ever feel there's too much action, you're free to lighten things up. Brew a potion or two, play dice, and pick some flowers (I'll always say KCD2 is a cozy game).



I don't even know where to start describing the main story. I guess you'll have to find out why they call this the modern Skyrim, and why it made players like myself feel such raw emotions only a handful of games have made us feel.


Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 isn't just an after-work/school pastime. It's a dazzling performance of the actors and actresses, a historical & musical masterpiece, and a truly epic experience.

Jesus Christ? Praised.

I feel quite hungry

After 200+ hours on this game (Yes i took my sweet time) I wanted to say that this game is simply a masterpiece. I loved every second I played rather if it was the main story quest or even "the smallest" task to attend I found it very enjoyable. This game did not fail to intrigue and to install emotions through out the experience and for that i am truly grateful. I cannot simply let go of this game even though i finished the story and new DLC's are on the way, still , I am looking forward to start a new gameplay, further more, to try and play the hardcore mode when it will be released. War Horse if this the kind of games you create PLEASE CREATE MORE ! you have my sinceriest respect. Here to more great games and content by your great company !
