I have a group of friends that I have been playing war games with for decades, because a human vs human is the actual point of such games. We see games like this coming out; get all excited; and see, yet again, no MP.

Very questionable statement. Wargames against AI often have campaigns with carefully calculated AI placement and stories.

Multiplayer wargames are niche, you can't just go quickplay and find someone. Matchmaking is always dead.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I don't play my tabletop wargames against anyone but humans and same with PC wargames. It just makes them so much more enjoyable in my opinion.

Hopefully this game will get the ability to play against a real opponent.

The purpose of single player gaming against an AI is always to prepare gamers for gaming against other human beings. An AI is just that, artificial and it will never compare IMO to gaming against another human being no matter how hard anyone tries.

Perish the thought, but are the game developers even alive? Is this game dead?

I'd like to purchase it because it looks fun to play.
