Multi-note basic tutorial
(This tutorial will refer to playstation icons as it's the best way to explain it for me)

Basically, if there are a bunch of multi-notes, all on a horizontal plane but are arranged vertical pattern, triangle will always be at the top, then square, then the cross and finally circle. If the notes are on a vertical plane but are arranged horizontally, the first quarter/fourth of the screen (from left to right) will be a triangle, second quarter is square, third is then the cross and the last part is gonna have a circle. Why do I mention this? Well, it is just easier to recognise the positions of the notes, rather than the individual notes. This is much better for sight reading, especially for the notes arranged horizontally as they can reach pretty far so if you know that one note is a circle and the other note is to the left half but not by too much, you know that it is just a square, so put one and one together and you know you need to press square and circle at the same time. You can also recognise that if there are multiple multi notes arranged vertically on a horizontal plane (just a note I need to add, notes that are arranged vertically are placed relative to themselves, rather than having a quarter/fourth of a screen dedicated to a note), if the pattern gets narrower, you just have to rotate around the controller or keyboard.

Triple notes are less of a hassle to explain, you can apply the same ideas with double notes that I mentioned earlier but with an additional note this time. However, there are triangle triple not formations that appear but from what I've been told and from playing the game, if the triangle is on the right side of the screen, it will always be triangle, square and cross, but if it is on the left then it is going to be triangle, circle and triangle.

The reason why the game is like this is because this is a port of an arcade game and the original arcade cabinets layed out all the buttons horizontally, so horizontal note arrangements would follow the way that the buttons on the arcade cabinets were and vertical note arrangements are the same but 90* clock-wise and triple triangle notes were the three left-most or thee right-most notes, in correlation with what side of the screen the notes were on.

Quadruple notes should be no problem, it helps if you set one of the triggers on a controller to press all four buttons or just any button on a keyboard. Quadruple notes can follow double note patterns as well as a rectangle around the the border of the screen or as a "diamond" at the centre of the screen.
