I was initially captivated to Have a Nice Death because of its marketing campaign. It was fun, simple, and adorable. The visuals for the skills and combat animations were far smoother than in other games I was playing at the time, and I really liked that. However, after a few hours of sitting down with it and unlocking new powers and weapons, the game play began to seem a little repetitive. You're frequently running through the same stages with no changes in design with the exit in the same place and everything else in the same location, killing the same foes and demons summoned by death prior.

A majority of the NPCs that you interact with in the background story are forgettable, with the exception of the Pumpkin, who is thrown at you at every available moment, but even that became boring after a few hours. I wasn't anticipating a game that I could play for weeks or months at a time, but something that I'd want to come back to occasionally by my own volition. The bosses become extremely easy to deal with once you understand how simple they are and how effective some builds are, such as ranged auto-targeting weapons that cost next to no mana and can be spammed endlessly.

Everything seems incredibly polished and responsive when it comes to playing. It's only the absence of enjoyable and replayable gameplay that keeps me from wanting to suggest it to others or return myself for another try.

Game's very fun, lots of weapons and ways to build Death every run.
Visually stunning and with many side characters with great personalities.
Totally recommended. (~8.5/10)

My CONS:
Tends to crash when you are 2h in.
The balancing of item drops could be tunned, going for weapon floors in late stages of the run just to get a Common weapon level 1 or 2 feels very jarring.
Floor spikes: present mostly in the Time floor do not work well at all, sometimes you get stuck in them not being able to jump away.
For All Achievements you are asked to 100% all weapons and get all Curses (perks) at least in one run, there is no auto track/hint system like Hades has, so it is a pain int he ass to open the Log constantly.
The behaviour of some enemies can be tilting in high difficulty runs (40h in or more) due to its inconsistency.

This game is fun but I think I'm just don't like it and if you have money to buy this you should buy Hollow Knight or Nine sols intead but if you are a big fan of rogue-like games this game might be a good choice

art style and character designs are amazing. gameplay is fine.
