Hey everyone!

This small hotfix finally fixes that pesky black screen bug that was occurring on Steam Deck.

What caused this bug?
For some odd reason, having the Window setting set to "Fullscreen" caused the game to crash sometimes on Steam Deck'. However, keeping the setting on "Windowed" fixes this, so I've defaulted this setting on Steam Deck. Please note there aren't any visual changes from this!

I can't believe we actually have a physical copy of the game now. It's so surreal and I can't thank you all enough for supporting the game and helping make this a reality! There's only 4000 copies available (over half are gone already!) and it comes with a few bonus things:

Another small hotfix for a common bug on the Steam Deck:
- Fixed issue where players spawned on the Twin Beaches island when they're still doing the questline on the Sacred Holm island.

I'm still working on the ongoing Steam Deck issue where the game freezes up upon selecting a save file. If anyone happens to have this issue and would like to help me debug it, please join out Discord server and ping me. If you do run into this issue and need a quick fix for it, please try re-installing the game as this typically resolves the bug for now!

Quick hotfix for a Steam Deck bug
- Fixed issue where players were spawning on the incorrect island in Level 3

Thanks for reporting these bugs everyone! I have a few small fixes here and including one that the speedrunner community has been waiting on.

- Fixed French typos
- Fixed German translations
- Fixed softlock spot in Grove of Life
- Fixed softlock when finishing base storyline in speedrunner mode

Please note the Steam Deck issue is still there and I'm working with the dev team at Steam to diagnose it. If you happen to get the black screen issue on Steam Deck upon loading your save slot, please try re-installing the game as it's been the easiest workaround so far. Hoping to have a fix for that soon! Thanks again for all the support everyone <3

There's a known issue with Steam Deck at the moment. For some reason the game will freeze up when loading your save files. It's not happening to everyone so the issue seems pretty random, but you should be able to resolve this by switching to "Desktop Mode" and running the game, or by re-installing it the game. Sorry for the troubles everyone! I'm trying to work with Steam on a fix for this one but I think it has something to do with the deck's firmware so it could tricky.

- fixed bug where player could be seen if you rotated the catapult camera around
- fixed issue with “Continue Playing?” button losing focus
- fixed missing collider for a candle in Level 5

- added 16 new purple crystals to collect within the new areas to make things less grindy for crafting the new skins.

Thanks for playing the new content update everyone! Thankfully it's been pretty stable, but I have a few fixes here. Thanks again to those who reported these bugs in our Discord server!

- Fixed bug where Rico (orange mushroom NPC) was reappearing in level after healing forest heart
- Fixed bug with purple mushroom showing the veil mushroom on Steam Deck resolutions

There was a sporadic issue happening in the last version that was deleting player save files. From what I can tell, this happened during the update process so it might be Steam related or maybe there was something corrupt with the build that caused this. This update adds brand new post-game content to Smushi! Travel to new areas and help restore the Heart of the Forest. The forest helped you find your way home, so surely you can return the favor and help the forest... right?

* The update is fully compatible with older saves
* You can start the new content by talking to the capybara in the Lake of Bloom level
* This update will remove two of your achievements if you unlocked them before (Modified Mushroom and A True Mycologist) since there are new skins and mushrooms added to the game.

I truly hope you all enjoy playing the new content. I've been working on it for some time now since the game's release and it's been a lot of fun adding new mechanics and collectables! I'm also super excited to announce the free upcoming content update!!

It's been really awesome getting to make more content for Smushi. I always had plans to do a free update like this if the game was successful enough, and here we are today making it happen!

This update includes 1 new level to explore (along with a few side levels). There's new NPCs to meet, skins to collect, mushrooms to discover, and more! You'll be able to access this new content once you've beaten the main game and it'll work with your old saves. I won't spoil too much right now, but look forward to a trailer for this update as we get closer to its release!

Last year was absolutely insane. Quite frankly it was the craziest year of my life. Things changed dramatically after Smushi's release (for the better) and I'm so grateful for all your support. Making games is my passion, and Smushi was truly a dream game that I wanted to fulfill. Now we've got plushies, a content update coming soon, potentially even some physical releases for the Switch! I'm so blown away by all the support. Thank you for playing my game, and I hope to see you return when the update comes around!
