Food... I think it was a pain to get, but one of the Happy Dungeons had a chance of having food, I think.
To unlock all items in the shop you need to level up Merchant(s)/Shop(s) AND Professor(s)/Laboratory(s). I don't remember exactly how many levels of each you need, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that a level 88 Merchant and a level 300ish Professor will do the trick.
The best way to farm food is with Food Market Facilities, which can be wished for by the Chef class. Food Markets spawn a random food item in an empty slot whenever they are invited. The quality of the food goes up as you gain levels in Merchant/Shop, and again, a level 88 Merchant should be enough to reach the cap. The food that can be spawned includes Carrot(10), Corn Soup(20), Pumpkin(30), Veggie Soup(40), Corn(50), Omelette(60), Apple(70), Stuffed Omelette(80), Bread(90), Curry(100), Ration(110) and Meat Stew(120). The number in parenthesis is the TEC score of the item, and also the value in % that the item adds to the consuming character's experience multiplier, doubled if the item is administered by a chef.
Other than that, you either get them from level completion bonuses or the way the poster above me said.
Yeah Makai Kingdom is kind of a mess.
