Is there a trick to to level up weapon mastery quickly? I need to learn stronger skills.

Also is the higher weapon mastery level, the higher bonus of that weapon when equipping?

Because I noticed a character with higher weapon mastery and level with 145% ATK but getting higher bonus than a character with 160% ATK.
