Zeliard

There was an older Japanese DOS game called Zeliard and I cannot help but think this game was at least partially inspired by it. Has anyone else played it?

Well on interview Keizo the creator of the game stated that the main inspiration was Jikuu Yuuden: Debias, from the look of it both this game and Zeliard are 8-Bits side-scrolling Action RPG, so I'm not surprise Astlibra end up similar to other similar games.
