footsteps sound like audio crackling and is very annoying. is there a way to reduce or disable?

will there be more lore for this game in different titles or this one, or will this just be it? i'm very confused but ultimately great game over all. maybe i'm really just not getting it.

the game was fun up to this point, the crows were a bit tough and frustrating but this little water critter was worse. its super fast, homing in on you when anything touches the water, meaning you're pretty much dead when you touch the water, and so i finally got past the kitchen, only to figure out there is a giant gap in the water, completely blocking any way of getting past. I am stuck and this has ruined any fun i was experiencing. I want to shoot it with a gun. There is no way to stun it and I have no...
