Features

Added auto-save feature to the game and settings UI.

Improvements

Worker selection UI → You can copy the assignment to other buildings of that type within the province or across the entire empire.
Removed read/write flag from several textures, saving some texture memory.
Updated to Unity version 6.1 and updated a few plugins. Performance increase with Unity 6.1 is significant — on my machine, about 30%.
Quest UI can now also be closed via the Escape key.
Key shortcut "Load saved game" now also loads auto-save files.
Loot collection UI now pops up at the upper right corner instead of the centre of the screen.
Player resource UI no longer shows decimal values for limits such as food.

Balancing

The Elven scout unit is slightly cheaper and deals slightly more damage.
Price changes for resources when buying and selling are reduced by a factor of 15 (marketplace).
Increased the price of food storage.
Reduced the price of food storage expansion and increased its capacity. Build time is slightly longer.
Reduced the price of the mill storage expansion. Build time is slightly longer.
Adjusted resource prices for the arcane crop blessing (mill radius extension). Build time is also longer.
Added 5k more stones to the playtest map.

Bugfixes

A soft lock caused by the Quest UI when escaping and immediately reopening a quest, resulting in getting stuck in modal dialogue mode.
Further improvements to spawn effect caching for units, as it was still not 100% reliable.
A bug where squads would sometimes not leave the tent, and the tent’s destruction would lead to unconquerable provinces.
A bug in the recruiting UI where not enough empty recruiting slots were shown after an upgrade was built to extend capacity.
A bug where the "sell excess food" upgrade for markets would not sell at the correct market price.
A bug in the building UI where the correct building health was not displayed after tabbing out and in again.
A bug in the marketplace where selling all resources would sometimes not grant the player their gold.
A crash bug in the spell-effect tooltip.
An issue with the AudioManager not resetting audio position correctly, which caused some tracks to play only briefly before switching to the next one.

New starting unit, improvements and bugfixes. - 077rev114

Additions

Added a new starting unit to the game, with all animations, icons, special ability, research, etc.
Added an effect base property check for different attack types so effects only show for certain attacks.
Added the possibility that special abilities can be enchantments or curses.

Improvements

Improved: Buff manager can now trigger special particle effects.
Improved: When selecting a tent and clicking on a squad, the squad UI is displayed so it can be, e.g., disbanded.
Improved: Squad UI height and width increased to show more information at once.
Improved: Special attack is now a trigger instead of an integer, which is more reliable.
Improved: Adjusted all animation controllers to prevent hit animations when attack, draw, or sheath animations are played.
Improved: Reworked animation timings in all animation controllers.
Improved several unit descriptions.
Improved overall target selection in fights for all units significantly.
Improved: Troops in tents don't jump in and out at the start of a battle.

Bugfixes

Fixed: Calculation of critical damage for melee and ranged hits and special abilities.
Fixed: Marketplace UI would not show the correct gold amount when opened for the first time.
Fixed: Towers would not shoot when they were available at game start.
Fixed a rare crash bug in forester behaviour.
Fixed a bug in calculating marketplace income for the resource tooltip.
Fixed a marketplace UI glitch where pressing the left or right button would cause the +/- to count up/down even though the button was no longer pressed.
Fixed: Player message history log UI – scroll content didn't have the correct size.
Fixed: Battle reports were empty after loading in the message history log; for now, there is at least some text indicating a battle occurred until full battle reports are saved.
Fixed a bug in the unit tooltip showing the wrong armour value.
Fixed a bug where buildings with ranged weapons would not shoot when the map was loaded for the first time.
Fixed a bug where units would attack NPC buildings and treat loot objects as attack targets.

Crop Fields, Messages, and Settings

Added the average yield display for crop fields when placing them.
Added the time required for crops to grow.
Includes bonuses from provinces and influence buildings like the mill.
Yields now adjust based on the preview’s position and height changes.
Added similar information to the building tooltip (average yield and growing times).
Added critical messages for low resources (e.g., food, mana, gold) when upkeep costs cannot be paid.
Added a new gameplay setting: the game normally pauses when the window loses focus — this can now be toggled in the settings.

Improvements

Improved: Population values below one are now shown with a decimal separator (point/comma) in the resource UI.
Improved: The maximum detection value for exploration is now 25% instead of 70%, making heavily defended provinces a bit easier to scout until a better system is implemented.
Improved: Adjusted advanced extraction building upgrade costs for mana, gold, and ore, which were previously too high. Extraction bonuses have also been increased.
Improved: Unit view now initialises all particle effects more reliably in an asynchronous way.
Improved: Any Empire UI (left sidebar) now closes when the Send Squads UI is opened.
Improved: Power source descriptions updated.
Improved: Power sources now provide increased power replenishment for wizards with a certain number of realm books, based on the magic realm of the power source.
Improved: Draft generation now factors in the current population, preventing it from stalling if population growth stops. The resource tooltip has been updated to reflect these new gains.
Improved: Added per-cycle information to happiness values in the province UI and node info tooltip for better clarity.
Improved: Pressing Escape now deselects all selected objects before opening the pause menu.
Adjusted Militia descriptions so players better understand why they are recruited and their role.
Adjusted the marketplace description to clarify that gold income increases in hamlets depending on population size.
Updated resource descriptions, as many were outdated.
Marketplaces now operate on cycles instead of ticks. Tooltips have been updated accordingly.
Marketplaces now generate slightly more gold per cycle.

Fixes

Fixed a bug in loot generation where resource yields could be zero.
Fixed a bug in the province UI and province info tooltip where happiness changes for beauty and safety were sometimes displayed incorrectly.
Fixed a bug in the wizard selection UI where spell toggles became disabled when activated, preventing spells from being deselected until realm books were changed again.
Fixed a crash in the Send Squads UI — while the crash is now prevented, there is still an unresolved issue with the province drop-down in very rare cases.
Fixed a bug where, if the population dropped below 1, happiness would no longer be calculated, and the game would fail to end properly.
Fixed additional issues related to population below 1, including problems with calculating overall empire happiness.
Fixed a bug in marketplace UI when buy resources and the gold was low, the resources would sometimes not correctly given to the player.
Fixed a bug in marketplace UI when buying and selling resources taxes would not be correctly applied.
Fixed another rare crash bug in repairable behaviour.
Fixed a crash bug in the worker manager when updating worker assignments after loading a game.
Fixed a crash bug when attempting to load an old or removed quest or trigger.
Fixed a crash bug when no save game was available and the player tried to quick-load via F6.

Worker tasks priorisation and a better start - 077rev108

Worker Improvements

Removed manual worker assignment as it didn't work out.
Added a new worker prioritisation using drag and drop. Shows the number of workers doing certain tasks.
Added info on how many workers are idling.

Improvements

Added a progress info on how many cycles a cropfield needs to grow to generate food.
Added a quest to recruit more workers.
Improved the loot collection UI look and position. It's now fading out after 2 seconds if there is only one item in the list.
Improved: After scouting, the defending squads of neutral-owned provinces are revealed in the province UI.
Improved: After scouting a province, the attributes are revealed in the province UI.
Improved: The population starts happier when the game starts.
Improved: Adjusted several quest texts.
Improved: Most quests have a small resource reward, which eases the start of the game.
Improved: Allowed more small ponds in provinces.
Improved some building descriptions.
Improved the look of the quest details UI.
Improved send UI not showing strategy icons when there is only one option.
Improved: Removed army tent button to hide attack squads in a tent during an attack, as it is never used.
Improved: Disabled Map Editor button for now, as some icons are missing and map generation has bugs.

Bugfixes

Fixed: A rare crash in forester behaviour, trying to add a tree stump twice to the quadtree.
Fixed: A rare crash bug when trying to spawn defenders when attacking temples.
Fixed: A crash bug when sending troops from a foreign province (scouts) and the player owns only one province.
Fixed: A crash bug when loading a game and then trying to restart that mission.
Fixed: A bug when auto-assigning workers to resources; the slider was sometimes reset when the player clicked into a building like the forester hut, etc.
Fixed: A bug in the ancient temple prefab.
Fixed: The mining hub description text was missing the mana resource.
Fixed: Several issues where information in the province UI was either not hidden or not shown correctly.

Marketplace UI bugfixes - 077v105

Fixes

The marketplace UI would open when clicking on a marketplace building and close directly afterwards.
When opening the marketplace via the empire UI toggle after clicking on a marketplace building, the UI was broken and could crash the game.
The marketplace UI buy button was always interactable even though no resources were selected for buying.
The player gold available was sometimes not updated when the UI was opened the first time.

UI Improvements

Integrated marketplace UI into empire UI and reworked the layout.
Integrated the place-building UI into Empire UI and reworked the layout.
Place building UI now also supports the "error UI" for all buttons.
Building, BuildingUpgrade, and Unit Tooltip show the number of missing resources.
Made a new tutorial video for placing crop fields, as the UI has changed.
Using the Escape button now closes any empire UI first; if no empire UI is open, it goes into pause UI as before.

Fixes

Fixed: Tooltips were flickering when fading in due to a bug in the tooltip manager.
Fixed: Some quest texts.

New send troops feature - 077rev100

New Send Feature

The new send feature solves a long-standing issue, as many testers had problems figuring out how to send troops.
Troops can be sent by clicking on a target province.
Buttons are shown next to the province UI when selected. The buttons show options to explore, reinforce, conquer, etc.
The possible provinces from which players can send troops are put into a drop-down in the send squads UI dialogue.
The send dialog automatically looks for the closest province to send the troops from.
Provinces that are missing certain troop types, e.g. exploration/combat, are filtered out automatically.
The old send method is still in place and has also been improved.

Improvement and Fixes

Improved the color of pathview material.
Improved: If the send dialog doesn't show, it now shows an error message with a reason.
Fixed: When scouts were detected while exploring, they were not using their flee speed and got very often murdered.
Fixed: Scouts cannot be moved from an exploration province to another unexplored province.
Fixed: A rare crash when searching ruins

Balancing: Units "good against" and "weak against" modifiers adjusted.
Balancing: Crop fields only cost wood.

Improved all bottom menus (alchemist UI, hamlet UI, province UI, wizard UIs, etc.) to have more space, increased font sizes, and improved text formatting.
Improved: Renamed fertility to crops growth rate.
Improved colliders and attack position calculations for several buildings
Improved building tooltip and UI, text sizes, separators removed when not required, etc.
Improved: Battle UI is now in Empire UI, automatically showing losses and available squads when clicking into a province where a battle takes place.

Fixed a bug in player object list UI not stopping the update coroutine in certain situations, which would lead to later crashes.
Fixed a bug in spell effect UI, which was not adjusted to the reworked province UI.
Fixed several issues with command buttons in battle UI.
Fixed the light setups "daylight" and "daylight variant" using wrong layers, which made the wizard look odd in the wizard character UI.
Fixed several issues with special ability explode on death for siege rams.

Fixed a crash bug in Empire UI formation list when a formation has not yet reached its target and the player would open that menu.
Fixed an issue where the cycle counter would sometimes not work correctly and stop.
Fixed: Triggermanager - research technology triggered only checks for newly unlocked research. Now, all unlocked research is checked.
Fixed: Resources, Squads, Formations, Buildlings and Spelleffects View would crash when an object is invalid.

Hey,

another hotfix update as the performance tweaks did cause a little chaos. Sorry for the incovnience to the people who played in the last few hours.

Bugfixes

Fixed a severe bug where enemy tents and buildings could not be attacked correctly.
Fixed a severe bug where attack position in melee fights would not work correctly for buildings.
Fixed a severe bug in squad radar not updating correctly which lead to strange situation when fighting in between bases.
Fixed pathviewer showing path of foreign formations.
