I just finished 100%ing this game, and while I got it for a steal (£0.60 on sale) I don't think I can recommend it. If I were to give it a score out of 100, it would be 40.

So, what I liked:
- Cozy, low pressure game
- Varying fishing mechanics
- Limited but very good music

What I didn't like:
- No "point" to catching the fish, beyond a premise of a university project. Some kind of fetch quests for the random people on the island (one of which literally has no name and no point) would have made this more satisfying, especially if they could give you specific hints about where to find the fish they asked for.
- No hints about where to find fish, unless you look up the dev's notes. That makes it easier, but not significantly so.
- It's named after an island in Scotland but looks like it should be in the Mediterranean.
- It should have been a 2.5-3hr game, it took me just over 4, I think, and I saw one reviewer it had taken 7.5 - that's due to not being able to find certain fish, not because there's more to do
- The artifacts you find are very easy with the magnet (fine) but collecting the sea glass is incredibly frustrating. They essentially spawn in one by one, so if you haven't gradually gone and picked them all up and you need to go back at the end, you have to run around the entire island and drop them off at the historian before you can find the next. Plus, if you stand too close (a normal distance from it) you can't pick it up. It was just frustrating when I was ready to be done with the game - just have them all available at once.
- I made a TON of money in the process of trying to 100% the game, but had nothing to buy. Some silly hats or something would have been fine.

The thing is, I could suggest it as a truly brainless thing to do while you watch TV, but waiting to find certain fish eventually gets frustrating. It's not obviously terrible - it's not broken, it's just lacking in some basic aspects you would expect. So grab it if you're intrigued and it's on sale like it was for me, but otherwise there are other games to spend your time on.
