Is the Sinden literally the only one on market? It's hella pricey - I get quality and all that, but it is very expensive either way.

Is there any good resources anyone knows of for affordable or alternative methods of using a Light Gun for PC?

Gun4IR is another option. I personally want something with a slider recoil, which still seems to only be available in old arcade guns.

If it's in unreal engine it could work with the new preydog unreal vr injector.

They all work, at least briefly. The Sinden needs a patch on the most recent version and you'd need to do some weird stuff to downgrade (google it, but... it's a process). The Gun4IR works fine. But for both there are moments where the controls briefly switch to actual mouse location, which means your calibration goes to hell. This seems to be at end of a level and in pause menu. I AM playing on a dual monitor and it's possible that's screwing things up a bit. Anyway, game support is dead now, so seems like it's up to how much you're willing to tolerate.

Gun4IR, being modular, you can definitely get slider recoil. There's actually an STL specifically for this. It's expensive, but easily the most CRT-level responsive of the two (and it's not perfect, but it's VERY good).

The Sinden is relatively cheap for what it's doing. The Gun4IR is the best one out there, but is also like 2-4x more expensive, and the solenoid doesn't kick too hard in most builds you can buy prebuilt. The Sinden, on the other hand, has a solenoid that kicks hard and drains off, so SMG fire feels extra lame. The faster you fire the faster it drains.

I ordered the Sinden Lightgun. So, when playing this game, can I just use the Lightgun or do I also need a controller to navigate? I will be playing this in a cabinet I'm building.

Presumably you already figured this out by this point, but because light guns act like a mouse, you don't need a controller.

You'll definitely need to mess around to get it to not reset mouse offset between levels or on pause screen though.

I got the Sinden Lightgun working perfectly in The House of the Dead Remake. Out of Box settings do not work well in the Sinden Software. Encrease contrast to 128 and lower Brightness to 39 in the "Main" tab for your gun in the softrware. Enter your Monitors/TVs screen diagonal in "cursor offset" tab. Dont forget to save settings on each tab! Upgrade the software and firmware from the gun. Point away 1,5x - 2x of the diagonal of your monitor to get steady and accurate tracking. Set your monitors refreshrate to 60hz resp. your games fps to 60! High refreshrate is not ideal for Sinden Lightgun. Also it is important not to have very bright light in your room or mobile phone/bluetooth or something in front of the Lightgun. Try to get it dark behind your monitor/tv resp. in front of your Sinden Lightgun. Use the ArcadeMod for The House of the Dead Remake, otherwise tracking is not accurate - crosshair goes off the screen whole the time. The ArcadeMod uses raw-input Data from the camera for tracking which is the prefered method for tracking than just using Sinden Lightgun as mouse device. Without ArcadeMod the game is not enjoyable with a Lightgun.

Im using the Sinden Lightgun on my 77inch OLED TV with Radeon 7900XTX with 4k Resolution and limited fps to 60. Its a blast in The House of the Dead Remake.

I hope you get your Sinden Lightgun running.

It's a known thing with Sindens. If you don't want the border you need to buy something else.
A dirt cheap solution that I've been using have been a pair of Joy-Cons with one of them being housed in a gun shaped mold that I got off of Amazon for like 20 bucks. It's not nearly as accurate as a proper light gun, but it gets the job done, for the time being.
