Do storms damage the raft while you are building it?

After finishing the game a few times staying at the island, I'm going for my first raft ending. My question is: do storms damage the raft while you are building it? My base is in jungle and I'll build the raft at the bay. I just finish the first dry season and I'm wondering if I have to wait another 60 days to start building or if I just go for it.

I haven't tried that specific scenario, but my guess is that yes storms would. storms damage huts at the jungle path and most things on the beach.

To my knowledge, the raft does not get damaged by storms.

I'm not sure if loose items inside the raft will get blown away, though.

The raft itself won't be damaged once completed (stuff can still blow out of the blueprints if it's in progress, however). I believe the items you can build on the raft (sail, special chests, etc.) won't take damage until you start your voyage. But anything you leave loose on the deck can get blown away.
