Balance Mod v125 Gamma Posted
The Balance Mod v125 Gamma has been posted. The gamma is quite stable for game play and you can continue your beta games with no (or few) issues. Quite a number of fixes have been made from the beta plus a bunch of AI fixes and enhancements. There's still some more AI scripting work ahead before the final v1.25 release. If you've been playing the beta version but haven't been downloading the WIP beta patches off the Balance Mod Discord channel, then there's quite a few changes overall. You should see some improvements overall with respect to the AI plus a lot fewer bugs with component or facility requirements etc. You might noticed due to some tech tree changes that your current designs from the beta might feature "technology" your empire doesn't understand. This is ok, you can just modify the design to remove the item in question.

If you've downloaded the v125 Gamma between now and the time of the post above you can apply this quick patch to fix a new game issue with strategies:
https://www.captainkwok.net/balancemod.php#quickpatch

The main download files have already been updated with the fix, so this is just needed again if you downloaded between now and yesterday when the note above was posted.

The error was the result of a change in the distance increments of strategy files from "ls increments" to "km increments". This only affected new games as that's the only point where the strategy data files are loaded.
oh wow, I can't believe it that you are still active. That's amazing. Your mod is really a masterpiece. I would just wish that SEV would run smoothly on my pc or laptop.

The final version of v125 will be released this coming weekend. It's not much different than the current test version that's out, but it does make some changes like adding a new asteroid scheme, an AI assist racial trait along with a number of other fixes/changes.
Good to see this still active. Might have to do a dive back in for old times sake. Keep up the good work!

Glad everyone is enjoying the mod. There's been about 300 downloads since it was posted so there's still a decent amount of active players out there.

There is a small update coming in about a week or so. Just a couple of small fixes and adjustments plus further AI work.
With your mod, the game runs the best it ever has. The AI (following your recommendations for game setup) is tight, efficient and forces smart human play. Your tech tree provides fun and interesting developments over the course of early and mid game. The Balance Mod rewards smart play and punishes dumb play, which is all we can ask for. Kudos!
