Hope we'll hear at least something positive from devs in 2024.
That being said, I feel like you are slightly wrong. First of all, Thief isn't the only stealth-oriented game of a (relatively) near past, and Thief isn't the main inspiration for this one.
The inspirations for Ereban were Aragami (a game where you have bunch of powers to manipulate the shadows around you) and Splatoon (a game where you paint the world around you and can move around via jumping into the paint stains like in the water), if I remember correctly.
With that being said, some of the good games in a stealth genre (which may or may not be focused around the stealing) are Aragami 1 and 2, Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness, Dishonored 1 and 2, Seven: The days long gone, Die Young, Ghost of a tale, Gloomwood.
