Does anyone know what game engine was used to make this game?

I mean it's intentional? Just bought all the episodes since i love the atmosphere, just want to know if it's normal (crash after dying and after beating the game, but still open the door) thanks in advance

I'm at the part where the mom sends you a picture of the guy standing outside the house, and I've tried just going straight to hiding but nothing happens. I tried watching others play the game, and they all get the guy to look at them through the window, which causes the guy to break in.
