The game will store 5 separate autosaves. Try and find the most recent autosave in the "Load Game" menu. If that is the most recent one, and you did not make a manual save, you are out of luck, and will just have to replay the lost progress.
If this is the case, my recommendation is to save manually and regularly. The game gives you 200 save slots, which is more than enough for even extremely frequent saving.
Use turbo mode and circle/B (not sure about the PC keybind for skip) if you do have to re-do the progress, as it will speed up the text dramatically.
