Mini-games all but impossible without in-game PlayStation controller button options
At 54, I'm already slow enough with these mini games and sadly accepted losing dp with the pom pom game. Now I'm at the horror coaster, though, and it is pretty much impossible. The controller works, I just need the in-game option to change to PlayStation for the button shapes. If there are more mini games to come in this game, this will continue to be disheartening. I have loved The Legend of Heroes series so far and have made this controller work for each game up until now. Maybe I missed something?

There's a setting in the menu, just like with Zero, to choose which prompts you have (PC / DS4 / Xbox One / Switch / Deck. It overrides whichever buttons the system detects to display your preferred buttons instead. (I think this is what you are looking for at least)
