God, what a terrible way to have the game work if this is really how it works.
One of my friends has a paid team. He's spent about 3.000 Euros in the game, and has almost every legendary players. If he plays with the lowest commom players, these are faster than anybody in the game, and all the bouncing balls landed to his players. So it's not about the cards you have, but the amount of money you spent in the game.
I've never spent a penny, and despite i have a lots of great cards, my players are like my grandma. For example: In my last match, the ball rolled on my oppos goal line after a save from his keeper. I tried to score, but my Wayne Rooney (who was within 3 meters from the ball) just stepped backward and backward whatever button I pressed (I pressed the right button, and he stepped left), until one of my oppos AI-controlled defender arrived and cleared.
The most of the times you can easily recignize, that you must to loose. When my striker shoots against the bar, and my oppo just score from the counter, it's the most usual way. But yes, a lots of times you just cannot make a pass, or your players just stand, doesn't matter what buttons you try to press.
The worst, when you got the goal(s) at the end of the match, because if you got it in the first minutes, yuo can save a lots of time if you simple abandon the match
