Surround Sound
I have a denon receiver with a 5.1 setup. No matter what settings are on the receiver the game only allows me to choose 2.0. Anyone have the same issue or a fix? All other pc games work fine.

Hmm ok thank you. I'll have to check windows settings as I dont remember ever messing with that setting. Maybe it became unchecked or maybe other games just automatically allow surround. Ill check that. Thanks.

My Denon AVR is also set as the default sound device in windows .

It's a bit strange if your other games work fine with 5.1 though .

Yes I have it as the default and uncharted even shows it as the active sound device, but still only mono and 2.0 available. Its bizarre.

You might have to go configure your speakers in the sound settings. After ddu my pc defaults to stereo for my receiver. I have to go back into the settings to configure my 5.1.

I don't have my pc connected directly to my receiver (Its only HDMI 2, but tv and pc are hdmi 2.1) though, its via eARC.

I have the same thing - i'm using Dolby Digital Live Encoder of the SoundBlaster X3 to output 5.1 via SPDIF cable. Only in Uncharted i am limited to 2.0 Stereo - it doesn't output 5.1. Another bug that needs fixing...

Yeah +1 here with a Denon Receiver. Only game that has this problem.

This. At First I only had the Option of stereo in-game. After doing the Setup for 5.1 within Windows sound settings it appears in the Game Menu

Everyone should make sure they have their playback sound configured to 5.1.

Windows needs the speakers configured to the correct audio channels

I don't think that's the reason as why would it only affect this game?

+1 can confirm 5.1 isn't working on my Denon and it's coming out as a stereo signal. Definitely a bug. First big game I've encountered this on in so many years. A shame since the audio work on this game is so damn good. :(

Thanks for this. I've never had an issue with any game using surround until this port. I will download the app in case I experience this problem again.
many variables here. are you using eARC? windows may be seeing the EDID info of your TV and not the receiver. you can use CRU to add 5.1 etc to the TV and it will all work then. if no eARC then maybe the EDID of the denon is just weird, but this is something you can force and test. search around, there are many guides from the past 10 years.

dolby apps etc are not needed for 5.1. you do not need the old fix of installing dolby manually and those custom drivers. you need windows to know that the device supports surround. this will "fix" it, but you're not really fixing the issue.

after that ensure you have 5.1 selected in windows.
