Out of video memory while compiling shaders
Hey all, I'm getting a persistant crash when attempting to open the game: out of video memory.

The thing is, I know I'm not - I have EVGA X1 graphing out vid mem usage and it never even exceeded 6GB of usage out of a possible 12GB.

Running on a i9-13900k, 32GB of RAM, and a RTX 3080 TI.

At launch it ran great, just came back after patches to check it out.

Thanks if anyone is able to help or if the devs are aware of this issue.

Using a 3080 myself, and haven't encountered this. Assuming you're not already doing this, the next time nvidia releases new drivers, you may want to perform a clean install.

Ya I was just considering doing that. Thanks for the tip.

Did you end up fixing the issue? I have a 13900k and certain DX12 games crash, like returnal and battlefield 2042. I've found a lot of forums with 13900k issues and some of them fixed it by doing an RMA.

Increase your shader cache, also try enabling rebar (4G decode and rebar) in bios. Or disabling rebar, as that uses up your vram for faster loading. My gpu doesn't support rebar, but I was able to enable 4G decode, rebar is just automatic, but I assume it's actually disabled.

You can also try using 1 drive as a page file, try different minimum amounts (5/10/15GB), if no change from that, ignore that, you should be fine in that department with 32GB ram.

Are there more ways to fix this? Can't believe it is still an issue after all this time

More vram, or close game without restarting the run.

At some point I wanted to also try to mess with the console variables with unreal engine unlocker.

You can try this, it helped in Gotham Knights with blurry textures.
Or try a lower value, if that is too much compared to your vram. The value doesn't have to be power of 2, unlike shadow pool where you get black lines in shadows if it ain't power of 2.

[ConsoleVariables]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=8192
