How can I start a fresh new game?
I mean from the beginning, the very first intro with the crash and so on.

just back up your game save and then delete the original.

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Returnal\Steam\Saved\SaveGames

i would zip the entire contents of that folder and then delete everything in there. backing up is optional but i wouldnt want to lose the progress just in case.

I had to disable cloud saves so my save would stay deleted.

Strange there's no New Game+ as it would have made more sense and thanks for this question as I want to start fresh again

Thanks, wanted a new game mode for brothers to play. So this is a good workaround.

To start new game first i need to delete the save file ( i will backup of course) and then disable the steam cloud so it won't download it again and stay deleted. The question is: How can i put back the save the old one? Just replace the save disable the steam cloud and then re enable it ? I'm lost to be honest. If someone can say step by step exactly what should i do i will greatly appreciate it. For sure i know that i have to disable Steam cloud

it's actually crazy to me that games get released without basic save control from within the game itself.

this file path does not exist for me on windows 11.. so how do i find my save files (my first run had cloud synced). I want to start like its a fresh save. HOW ISS THIS OPTRION NOT BUILT INTO THE GAME FFS!?

Maybe ...Users\*username*\... is in a different location for you. Like on a different drive. In File Explorer search for "AppData".

where it says *username*, its not actually that but whatever your actual profile name is on windows, its different for everyone. i see you already got another way around it but its a safe bet to manually go there in windows explorer, start at c drive, then users, then your username, etc.
