Hello Demigods!

Update 1.04 “Armory” is now live!

This one comes with a ton of new stuff, improvements, bug fixes, reworks, and more.

So there’s Bad News, and Good News:

The Bad News:
Unfortunately, due to performance, technical reasons, and the upcoming multiplayer update, the Time Control abilities had to be removed from the game, including Time Reversal and Super Slow Motion. These abilities were built on an old, deprecated system that was causing more harm than good at this point. For now, Time Control will still have the same increased movement speeds, wall running, and a slightly better time slow than normal.

The Time Control power set will be overhauled with new abilities in the future.

Now for the good news: all the new stuff!

• New Demigod Avatar
  
• Male Vigilante Avatar now has hair and a facemask.
  
• Weapon Mod Support. Melee weapons can now be created in the Demi-Mod SDK and uploaded to mod.io.
  
• New Utility Belt System:
  
  • Weapons can now be slotted into a visible inventory at the player’s waist. This can be set to always on, disabled, only visible when power wheels are open, or only visible when the player’s hands are near the Utility Belt.
    
  • Weapons can be assigned in the new Loadout Interface in the Player Menu
    
  • Lose your weapon? No problem. By moving the hand over the utility belt and pressing trigger, you can spawn another weapon into the same slot.
    
  • When grabbing a Pistol or Rifle, the Utility Belt’s ammo slot will switch to the correct magazine.
    
• New Weapons: Bow, Arrow, Explosive Arrow, Shock Arrow, Grappling Arrow, Extendable Staff, Assault Rifle, Demigod Pistol, Pistol Magazines, Light Hammer
  
• Added new Weapon Models for Pistol, Shield, Hammer, Sword, Baton
  
• Added new ability for Shield, 'Bounce':
  
  • When charged and thrown, the shield will now bounce off of objects towards nearby enemies, or recalled to the player’s hand.
    
• Added new ability for Hammers: Recall:
  
  • When charged and thrown, hammers can cause large knockback to enemies and then be recalled to the player’s hand.
    
• Fire Power Set’s Explosion Mode is now a charged hold and release to activate. You can hold/charge for up to 3 seconds for a more powerful blast.
  

• Enemy Pistols and Rifles can now be dropped by enemies when defeated and used by the player.
  
• Updated Enemy Physics & Stats
  
• Upgraded Agent models
  
• Increased enemy bullet damage
  
• Improved enemy ability to deal knockback force to the player (if enabled in settings).

• Improved performance of Traffic & Pedestrian Systems.
  
• Added over a dozen new destructible billboards to the game. (Thanks Testers!)

Basic Mantling

• When grabbing the top of a flat ledge, tapping the jump button will move the player to that point if nothing is in the way.

• Fixed issue where some avatar mod’s heads & hands would be off.
  
• Fixed issue where some mods wouldn’t be usable after downloading.
  
• Fixed issue where enemies would sometimes lose collision physics.
  
• Fixed issue where enemies wouldn’t react to physical hits, or would pop back into place.
  
• Lots and lots of minor bugs squashed.

Hello Demigods!

Quick hotfix to address some minor issues.

Changelog:

Fixed issue with Enemy Customization sometimes loading the wrong enemy mod.
Fixed issue with Insect Queen
Fixed issue with Flying Larvae
Fixed bug where larger enemies would get stuck in the “falling” or “get up” state.
Minor bug fixes and improvements.

Thanks for your patience. Hotfix 1.021 is now live!


Changelog:

(Experimental) Added new setting for Increased Player Gravity. Can be enabled in settings and set anywhere from 1 to 30. I recommend you set it between 10-15. Please note that this also affects jumping.

Updated Mod.io Browser window to be easier to read, especially on Quest 2.

Updated how mods work internally to be less error prone and made the modding process easier.

Fixed issues with:
- Robots: lasers and movement speeds.
- Avatar and Map mods loading + buttons.
- Giant Mech spawning during other Hero Events.
- Earth Control and grabbing being disabled.
- Avatar Save data causing freezes.

We’re super excited to launch our first major free content update! The Giant Enemies update introduces two massive monsters to take on in select maps. Trust us when we say, these guys are enormous. It’s a totally new way to play the game.

Today’s update adds both the Insect Queen and Giant Mech enemies. They introduce a new dimension to Demigod’s physics-driven superhero combat, allowing you to web or fly around the arena, dodging attacks and bringing your opponents toppling down. To access them, you’ll need to head to specific maps and locate their Hero Events.

The Giant Mech, for example, can be found as purple hero events in the park of the MC map and in a corner of the New Olympus maps.

Today’s update also adds new enemy IK improvements and updates to logic and functionality of existing enemy types to make for a more immersive combat experience. The Agent and Robot enemy types also have all-new character models to face off against, and there are updates to the enemy spawn system, lighting in the New Olympus level, and general bug fixes have been implemented.

Hi there, Demigods!

A small maintenance announcement from us: very soon we will be removing the demo for Project Demigod on Steam.

It's been a long time since the demo was updated, meaning it really doesn't represent the current state of Project Demigod. In fact, you've probably noticed that it doesn't even have the right name - it's so old it's still called 'Project META'!

This means that, if you have the demo already, it will soon cease to function. A huge thank you to everyone that gave it a go. Unfortunately, continuing to update and support the demo to best showcase Demigod would be a drain on resources that we can't really afford right now - taking it down helps us put more focus on the game itself.

And don't forget there's a lot to focus on! We'll have more to share on our first big content update, Giant Enemies, very soon. Keep an eye out for more!

First, let us say a huge thank you for all your support for the game before, during, and after the full launch in February. It’s taken a huge effort to bring Project Demigod up to a 1.0 release and we’re really happy with the foundation we’re now building upon. If you’re yet to jump in, then now’s the perfect opportunity for you to get involved.

Before we talk about that, let’s take a little look at the future of Demigod.

We’ve always said that Project Demigod will be an evolving platform of superheroics, with plenty of new features coming post-launch that take your playstyle to the next level. Today we’re very excited to give you a glimpse of what’s in store over the next year. Oh, and remember, all of the updates you see here will be free for anyone who buys the game.

Here’s what’s on the way for Project Demigod:

As you can see, we have a lot planned for each and every area of the game. Modders can take their creations to the next level as we upgrade our engine and bring in weapon, enemy, and even power mods a little later down the line. Our New Olympus 2.0 level will also add one of the best environments to the game yet.

And, of course, we’re very excited to officially confirm we’re working on multiplayer support. We know a lot of you have been asking after this feature. It will be some time before we're ready to reveal more about it, but rest assured it's in its early stages and we'll have more to share later in the year.

Before all of that, though, we’ve got our first big content update right around the corner, and that’s the Giant Enemies update. This will introduce two massive monsters you can take on in select environments. It completely changes the dynamic of the game and offers some jaw-dropping moments. We’ll have a closer look at this update, including a release date, in the very near future, so keep your X-ray vision in check.

Also, for the upcoming Mod Upgrades update, please note that, due to a project-wide upgrade, all existing mods will have to be deprecated. After the upgrade, new/replacement mods can be created with additional tools and options for modders, as well as new modding features such as enemy avatars.

With so much on the way, we’d recommend getting a headstart on what Demigod already offers. So today we’re launching our first post-launch sale for the game! You can currently grab Demigod at a 20% discount. There’s never been a better time to dive in and start saving the day.

Hotfix 1.01 comes with fixes for bugs that made it into the 1.0 release, as well as some minor aesthetic updates.

Changelog:

Fixed PCVR Mod Browser and Updated some of the Mod Browser UI.

Fixed Ability Activation for Energy, Fire, Water, and Lightning.

Fixed bugs with the avatar customization and color selection.

Fixed collision sounds for enemies and environment.

Fixed bug with Kicking and Avatar's getting stuck in place.

Restored several options in Player Settings.

Added new reflection probes to Millennium City and New Olympus.

Replaced the loading screen skyboxes and the Demigod artwork.

Hello Demigods!

Project Demigod 1.0 is now live on Steam! This update adds new Hero Events and performance upgrades. This means there are some features and settings that are temporarily removed. Another small update will be out in the coming weeks to restore these features as well as add some new content.

Unfortunately, we've encountered an issue with today's Steam release that's preventing mod.io integration from working. We're looking into it and will issue a fix as soon as possible.
