Which way to go?
I finally got the Bioanalysis token. There was a cut scene where police went into a building I didn't recognize. Now, I can't tell where to go next.

Also, I see all the manholes with cryptic glyphs that are "closed shut". How do they get opened?

y! it is, as @fruitNDoggie said, you need to go to the abandoned building, near the beginning of the game, close to the library (south west).

from there you can open the manholes from below

Huh. for some reason I thought that "closed shut" meant "tightly closed". I probably got this from one of the games I played when I was a kid like resident evil or parasite eve. But I guess it does not make much sense, does it? Maybe I remember it wrongly

maybe it was a mistranslation from japanese that got carried on my mind all over to my game

Well, it's awkwardly worded, but either way implies that I should be trying to find another way to open them. Is that part of the game?
