Episode EX unlock ?

Someone says that to get the true ending achievement, you have to watch Episode EX in the menu, but i don't see it, is there an unlock condition for it

I think you need to collect the puzzle pieces in each stage.

I beaten the game by clearing the stages with the pieces on my first go, and the episode was unlocked right after seeing the "normal" ending (The ex episode is more of an epilogue than a "true ending")
